When Warners planned to open this Thursday instead of Friday, they presumed it would get positive word-of-mouth. And with a first day take of about $14 million for Thursday, it looked like they were right. But by Sunday of its opening weekend, SEX AND THE CITY 2 had toppled from #1 down to #3, and Sunday's take was off from Thursday's by about 35%.
