The message of the movie is very good:

If we choose to believe a number is special,we'll see it ev'rywhere(that's one of the main themes in LOST).If some other director had made it,we would've find out he's 23 years old,he was born on the 23,or if you add his social security numbers you'll get 23.However,that doesn't mean is special.

The problem is that by showin'us this,the endin'changes the entire tone of the movie,and blows it.

Over at "Cracked," this was listed as having The Third Most Asinine Ending Ever. #2 was the "Planet Of The Apes" remake, and #1 was "The Life Of David Gale"... 

moviewizguy, why have you seen "Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie"? I admit, I have seen it, but I have an excuse: I was only 12 at the time. Also, kudos (thought I'd never use that in terms with moviewizguy) for hating "Jaws: The Revenge!"

Hmmm...Besides this film being released on the 23rd or February and that this is Schumacher's 23rd directrial film, there's a bunch more of these connections from this film.

1. Other instances of the number 23 connected (sometimes very tenuously) with the movie: - The last time Jim Carrey and Joel Schumacher worked together was in "Batman Forever." In that film, Carrey's character (the Riddler) also showed an obsession for numbers, which he used to represent letters of the alphabet in his riddles. The numbers were 1, 8, and 5. Batman figured out that 1 and 8 were meant to be 18. 18 + 5 = 23. The number 23 is a W, and in "Batman Forever" there is a scene of Carrey underneath a W (the gate outside Wayne Manor). - The address of the bookstore is 599. 5+9+9=23. - Walther's room at the asylum was 318. 31-8=23. - The number of letters in "Animal Control Department" - The apartment number across from the suicide blonde's apartment (959) - The dog in the movie is named NED. 2. The dog Ned goes to the grave of Laura Tollins, and it can be seen that she was born on February 10, 1968 and died on February 10, 1991, which was her 23rd birthday.

3. The office Agatha Sparrow visits is number 318, 31 - 8 = 23

4. The hotel which Jim Carrey stays in is called the King Edward's Hotel. This name plus the red vacancy sign added together equals 23.

But this one was not included: LT. The letters that appear on the bracelet. L:12th letter, T:21st letter -- 12+21= 23. And why? Because 12+21 do not equal 23. 12+21 actually equals 33.

*sigh* You know, comments like that don't necessarily get you respect around here...I don't know if you noticed, but the rest of the RAZZIE community isn't so keen on Adam Sandler movies.

(Just out of curiousity...if you think movies like Click, Date Movie, and House of Wax are good...what the heck do you consider a bad movie?!)

Just one review from Ebert & Roeper (or Roeper and Whoever-the-Hell-is-Filling-in-for-Ebert) doesn't automatically make this good. In fact, according to Rotten Tomatoes, only 8% of the critics in America liked it.

Trust me - sometimes a "Two Thumbs Up" goes to a movie that doesn't deserve it...
