IMHO, for satire to be really effective, the writers have to have the courage, and capability, of taking on something that deserves to be sliced down a notch or two. The reason that movies like The Comebacks and Epic Movie fail so miserably is that their targets are already, by and large, crap to begin with.

It's a little like trying to create a satirical parody demonstrating the monumental idiocy of George W. Bush. No matter how hard you try to slice the guy down, he is going to do something even stupider than your most vicious satirical slam within 48 hours.

As you can see, I especially hated Norbit and The Hitcher... 

Epic Movie is still the worst movie I've seen this year.

I was just about to post this same thought. The duo who made Date Movie and Epic Movie are at it again! I really want to go punch the person who keeps giving them funding.

Because the horrible Date Movie was almost totally ignored by the Razzies last year, I really hope that Epic Movie and The Comebacks dominate the Razzies this year (and 'Meet the Spartans' dominates next year).

It's "In The Valley Of Elah". "Inland Empire" was directed by David Lynch, and I have no f*cking idea what it's about. If anyone has seen it, they will know what I mean.

That's only because of Wesley Morris of the Boston Globe, the only movie critic, Cream of the Crop or otherwise, to give The Comebacks a positive review out of the fourteen movie critics who reviewed this movie so far.

Why is Hollywood is still allowing these crappy spoofs in the theater! And it gets worse next year, as more crappy spoofs are in the works, such as Date Movie 2 and Meet the Spartans (South Park and You-Tube already went through with those 300 spoofs). Both are being directed by Aaron "I suck" Selzter!

BTW, Hot Fuzz was a good movie (though I wished there were more action sequences).

I've seen all the films Schumacher has made, except for "Dying Young" and Veronica Guerin".

If you want to turn off your brain so you can kill a few minutes, watch Bad Boys II and Point Break.  That's what PC Butterman recommended to Nicholas Angel after Angel had been working in Sanford for awhile, and you know, it was the first time Angel could shut off his brain in his whole life.

And you want to know something else?  The entire paragraph above is taken from a great film released this year where you can turn off your brain, kill a few minutes and enjoy a hilarious movie all at once.  It would be time far more well spent than watching Bad Boys II, Point Break or especially any of the Scary/Epic/Date Movies.  And kids your age would love it, even with the accents.

Go rent Hot Fuzz, MWG.

I like ________ Movies because they are supposed to be dumb and targeted toward teenagers. That's why I liked Date Movie and Epic Movie and many others didn't because they were probably adults. These are movies where you just turn off your brain so you can kill a few minutes. Now you can disagree me all you can, but why watch it when it's not the movie for you?
