Time to finish off Saw week.
 
The good:
 
Hoffman dies at the end: This really made me happy! If this didn't happen, then I would have given this a C-.
 
The bad:
 
Kevin Greutert: Greutert's good direction from the last one doesn't carryover here. Considering the dickering that LionsGate pulled-off with him, maybe it's his form of revenge.
 
The script: Unlike the past Saw scripts which seemed empty, this one seemed too full. There may be a reason for this though. Apparantly, there was supposed to be eight Saw movies in total, but Saw VI's flopping caused them to merge the two sequels into one.
 
Sean Patrick Flannery: Boondocks Saints star Flannery is flat here as Bobby Dagen, a guy who lied about surviving a Jigsaw trap. His performance is unusually stiff.
 
The ugly:
 
Costas Mandylor: On TVTropes, there's a trope called Villain Sue. A Villain Sue is a villain who seems unstoppable and appears to be loved by the writer(s). No term describes Hoffman better. He kills an entire police force with ease. Thankfully, Gordon pwns him at the end!
 
From what it seems, Paranormal Activity may become the new Saw. The difference? The Paranormal Activity movie, including the third one (B), get good reviews! Grade: C.
 
Next-up: A Nightmare On Elm Street 2!

I don't think it would go to the Bond series at all. It would more likely go to a horror movie series, probably for the first movie that "Nuked The Fridge" and every movie that came after it. Not all movies in a series are bad. No, I'm saying EVERY studio wants a James Bond series, ie. a series of movies made over the course of many decades that will always make them money because every generation will grow up with the movies, and the studio will just reinvent the series every once and a while if the series gets stale.
