Vits what I think Head Razz means is this: Ever since the first Hangover, the studio behind the film has really just wanted people to buy into the sequels because of the popularity of that first film. Since the first film, they pretty much repeated the same formula in the 2nd Hangover film (don't know about the 3rd). But from #3's 23% rating on RT (and the horrible reviews it's getting in other places) it seems to be another repeat of the first and second films, just in a different setting and with a different tone. Instead of a comedy, Hangover 3 seems like an action/thriller. Just got back from this. It was better than the second one, by virtue of not just being a lazy regurgitation -- but that's not saying much. I'd say it's definitely a Razzie contender. Zach Galifianakis and Ken Jeong were especially bad.

Funny story: I have a friend who has connections with film distributors, who tells me which movies will get theatrical release here and which ones won't. When he told me that the Best Foreign Film Oscar winner A SEPARATION was being released direct-to-DVD here, I rented it, and I loved it! Now, it appears in the movie listings in the newspaper. My friend told me that it's being shown in "art-house" cinemas. Doesn't matter, because it's still eligible for my Vits Awards.

Meanwhile, because of the success of movies like GRINDHOUSE, a Chilean movie called BRING ME THE HEAD OF THE MACHINE GUN WOMAN is trying to bring a new sub-genre: LatinXploitation (I didn't come up with that name).

Those 2 movies are among the new releases here, along with SAFE HAVEN. Oh, and also FAST & FURIOUS 6. What should I do?

Let me put it this way: If these film-makers were party guests, we'd have thrown them out for how they behaved last time when they showed up and barfed on everyone -- and we'd never willingly let them in the front door again...

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: I was suggesting that the very existence of this film is a "rip-off," as in: The idea of doing a third HANGOVER movie, when the second one sucked and a third one would exist only to take movie-goers' money, is inherently a "rip-off." 

As if further evidence were needed, here's the LINK to read today's L.A. Times review of HANGOVER III, which declares "the comedy has left the building," and which (in the print edition) has a sub-headline that refers to the film as "dismal"...

Wait a minute, HeadRazz. The trailers for the movie make it clear it's more of a thriller/heist type of thing, AND there is NO actual Hangover this time. Therefore, I'd argue we cannot call this a rip-off of the first movie again (Unless you think it is ripping-off something else. If that's the case, please explain)...

I am not talking about Tree of Life being "booed," I am talking about the fact that the first 30 something reviews were almost exclusively negative.
