I'm clocking this one in it late*. The reason was that I was admiring several films that are now on my best movies ever list (All The President's Men, Apollo 13) instead of reviewing a crappy Razzberry Dough Boy movie!

 
The good:
 
The animated intro: The intro was the only thing about this that made me laugh and is the only reason that this isn't one grade lower!
 
The bad:
 
The children: Good God, these kids are obnoxious! I was hoping that someone would punish them for the annoying-ness, but that never happened.
 
John C. McGinley: OK, McGinley wasn't as obnoxious as he was as the gay cop from Wild Hogs, but that's not saying much. He plays Chuck Mitchell, Jr., an obnoxious repair-man who knows Magic Johnson.
 
Annoying animals: In a repeat of the deer scene from the first one, there's a scene where Ice is beat u by forest animals again. Tired and cliched doesn't even begin to describe it!
 
The ugly:

Steve Carr: He's the hacky-hack of a director we're stuck with. The only reason I can think for him getting this job was that his debut feature was Next Friday w/ Razzberry Dough Boy.
 
The script: The script was written by Hank Nelken, who, also, wrote Saving Silverman, Amanda Peet's worst movie and Dennis Dugan best, non-Happy Gilmore** movie! And that's without getting into how this was supposed to be a remake of Mr. Blanding Builds His Dream House at the start of production!
 
Well, I'm bored. Watching Anatomy Of A Murder, great so far! Grade: D-
 
Next-up: Old Dogs!
 
*While it says 7 on the Razzie clock, it's 10 here in NY.
**Seriously, that's one of the the few Adam Sandler movies that I actually liked!

That guy on the left in the still on this forum plays one of the doctors on "Scrubs," but it seems like they're wasting his comedic talents here, much like Jason Earl in "Underdog".

And "Live Free or Die Hard," how old is Bruce Willis? Sixty? And that guy from the Apple/Mac commercials? Can you say IN FILM ADVERTISING?

I remember last year when that guy from "The Omen" and "Basic Instinct 2" was nominated for WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR. I think that's going to be John C. McGinley this year. How funny...Here we have a movie that manages to be a contender for both Worst Sequel and Worst Rip-Off.

Response from Head RAZZberry: Actually, since its listing on IDMb sez it went into production as an official remake of the 1948 film ( LINK ) I think this one qualifies as Worst Remake, NOT Rip-Off. When the film-makers freely admit whose material they are "re-imagining," it gets a pass on the "Rip-Off" designation, though on a technicality... 

I was also a bit surprised to see that this film already ranks among the Top 50 on the IMDb's 100 Worst Movies of All Time List ( LINK ). Sure, it sux -- But all-time sux?!?!?

Does this qualify as a rip-off?  I've read in a number of places that Are We Done Yet? rips off Cary Grant's Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House.  I haven't seen either movie yet, so I don't know.

Response from Head RAZZberry: MR. BLANDINGS, in which Grant co-starred with Myrna Loy, was a pleasant enough 1948 comedy about a family buying a money-eating home in the country (IMDb LINK). It was previously ripped off in 1986 by THE MONEY PIT ( IMDb LINK ). This version (which apparently went into production as an official remake of the 1948 film) does qualify as a remake, but I'd say it's a much likelier contender for Worst Sequel or Prequel. Mayhaps we should list it as a choice in both categories...

Ok, I liked the first film (yes, no surprise there). It was a harmless film for the families. This one also looks decent enough, if not better than the first.

moviewizguy, if you're NOT going to enjoy our comments on these bad movies, then just get the hell outta here and leave us alone. On the other hand, if you still want to defend this film, well, I ain't stoppin' ya. But just accept the fact that we not just judge these movies by reviews from critics or Box Office numbers, but by the talents from the actors/actresses in these movies.

I must admit, though, if moviewizguy likes 97.8% of everything Hollywood puts out (which, based on his dozens of posting to date, certainly seems to be the case) I am puzzled by his being drawn to the RAZZIE Forum in the first place...
