Looks like movie-goers were not as open to the idea of a second Dan Brown adaptation from the makers of DA VINCI CODE as Sony/Columbia presumed they were. Comparing the opening weekend numbers on DA VINCI and ANGELS & DEMONS shows a drop-off from the first to the second film of over 40%.

Here's a LINK to B.O. MoJo Daily Grosses page for DEMONS to see how the two movies stack up...

Youch!

So now the question is: Does Hollywood learn a lesson...or not?

Hollywood? LEARN? What Blasphemy is this?

"Angels and Demons" (the remake) is all set to open for the summer movie season in 2013!

You know one thing that always really bugged me? When Joss Stone did a cover of The White Stripes "Fell in Love With a Girl" about a year after it came out. That just portends badly for the world of cinemas... And makes that idea that much more plausible.

Joss who? Only Joss I know of is Joss Whedon....

Hmm... Looked her up with the might of google, and still not ringing any bells... Is she supposed to be popular or something?

Perhaps it is time for a comeback?

...never mind, apparently her website is being redesigned to be re-opened in 2009.... Seems like that year is practically half over already...

It did.The sequel was better than the previous one,so THE LOST SYMBOL might be better.

Or equally, if not more boring.
The Four Horsemen of the Moviepocalypse: uncalled for sequels/remakes/reboots, 3-D surcharges, untalented "celebrities", and anything with Michael Bay's name attached to it.
