You know, I just stumbled onto this forum by sheer happenstance, but as sheer happenstance has it, when I saw House of Wax I was inspired to actually comment on it, and Paris Hilton specifically, in my journal. I won't post the entry here because it's probably a bit rude for a public forum. To sum up, though, just because House of Wax might not have been the worst horror movie of the year (and wow, was it a bad year for them) doesn't mean it was a good film. After all, the best piece of $#!+ in the toilet is still a piece of $#!+. The premise was ridiculous, the acting was atrocious, and the horror content ranked slightly below a bad episode of Barney. I can think of places I'd rather be stabbed than to watch House of Wax again.
As for Paris Hilton, believe it or not that was the first time I had ever seen her, and my first thought upon finding out who she was happened to be "that sex tape's a fake... gotta be... there's no way anyone would ever willingly touch her". I'm sorry, but even a necrophiliac would have to be hard up to do her, and she actually looked BETTER as a corpse. I'd say dispense with the awards and just give her the Razzie for her performance, but she doesn't deserve an award with so much prestige attached to it.
What amazes me is that while House of Wax made the list, Cry Wolf made it through completely unscathed.
For the people who said that Paris Hilton can act..HOW OLD ARE YOU?....I cant believe that a grown person can seriously look at her performance in ANYTHING and say she has talent. She is awful to watch even during interviews being herself. Its a sad day in movie history when we the consumer have to put up with this garbage. As movie tickets rise every day it seems.."actors" keep getting richer and we are stuck with wasting the time and the money for this CRAP they try to pass off as "entertainment" these days. I cant believe Paris has "fans" that adore her and look up to her. Name 5 things this woman has done positive (that is not associated to herself) since we have had the DISPLEASURE of seeing her everyday on the TV screen the past few years.
Call me a "hater" if you want to..but can you honestly say that you would like this girl if she wasnt a HILTON?? If she was a poor girl named Anna Sue Miller from Kentucky would you be kissing her butt saying she was talented?? and beautiful?? DOUBT IT. Paris has only 2 things that make her so "popular" One is money and the other is blonde hair. Sorry for the rant but Im sick of Hollywood as of late. For the past few years it has all gone down hill and I live in the Washington DC area so we are not privy to Independent films (before DVD release that is) so we have to take what we can get in essence of trying to be "entertained". I went to the movie a few weeks ago and saw about 4 or 5 previews of up and coming releases and BELIEVE ME.....it'll be another summer of being bored (with movies anyway) because the crap I saw was like I said CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

You sound like a COMPLETE IDIOT just saying that. I bet you haven't seen the film. She was fine with her perfomance. She wasn't good but wasn't bad either. Hell, if she wasn't in this film, House of Wax wouldn't even got nominated. HOW was a very entertaining film (sorta like a guilty pleasure) with everything you would ever want in a horror film. I even found even worse films in 2005 that could've replaced HOW. I agreed with HOW fan and Enkil. HOW was so much scarier than The Devil's Rejects (which I thought was not a horror) and WAY better than any horror movies these days (even Saw II and III). People just think she's a bad actress because they hate her.

Woah, woah, woah. That is called IRONY, which adds up to the fantastic ending sequence shown in the film. Maybe you don't enjoy seeing ironic things happening, especially the way the twins died, but I loved that little bit. How can you not love that? It was perfect.

O.K.,"Alanis".Considerin'that this is a teen-target slasher flick,that's good.I mean,the level of deepness in this movie can olny reach certain points:
1)If it isn't deep at all,it's just some money-makin'garbage.
2)If it's too deep,people won't understand.

And like those kids movies, these teen slashers are made to be dumbed down so teens can just sit there in a trace with their brains off, or d*** around on their cell phones like they are in their living rooms.
I for one hate these debates about how movies have to be dumb based on their audiences. That is so weak. That is no excuse for making a lackluster movie. It's just a scapegoat so that the writers, producers, and directors can half-a** their way to a paycheck, and it's a f***ing shame. I feel sorry for indie filmmakers who try their hardest to get into the business, but are shot down and they have to sit back and watch these waste of time movies being made and released instead.

Really? And this is why schools are giving teengers F's in their English projects because they are using the same wording that they use in their text messages like LOL, BRB, woot, or l33t?
But that's not my point, my point is that it's rude for people who are there in the theater who want to enjoy the movie, but can't because of teeners distracting them. It has happened to me more than once, and it's among one of the main reasons why I don't go to theaters as often as I used to.
