It might be okay, then, again it might not: Here's a trailer for "Fireproof," starring Kirk Cameron (of "Left Behind" fame) in his fifth feature film in his 21 years as an actor (and that's not counting the two direct-to-video "Left Behind"sequels he was in: "Tribulation Force" and "World at War"). Here's the YouTube LINK...

And here's a LINK for the film's official site, which also includes two music videos.

It's set to open on about 1,000 screens on September 26...

Watching the promo, I couldn't help noticing the prominence of "Christian" images and messages throughout. This looks to me like something financed by Fundamentalists and meant as an "anti-divorce" movie. As such, I'll be interested to see if it can actually find 1,000 theatres willing to book it next fall...

I find it curious that this film's makers bothered to get a "known actor" for the lead role (the all-but-forgotten Kirk Cameron) and then failed to give him billing in the trailer. Surely at least 137 people would recognize his name from the 1980s TV series "Growing Pains." It left me wondering just how much (or how little!) they paid Cameron, if his name isn't even being used for "promotional" purposes...

It's produced by the same team who made "Flywheel" and "Facing the Giants". ("Flywheel" only made it to a one-city theatrical run though.)

Preachy, heavily Christian-themed movies starring Kirk Cameron are even more annoying.

Here's a LINK
to Kirk and his pal in their famous Banana video

from Head RAZZberry:
HILARIOUS! It looks like Cameron at least gets
the "other implication" of the demonstration. Clearly, the Auzzie-
sounding "Spokesman for God" does not...

And here's the

I saw a preview for this. It looks cheesy! Can we please give the Worst Actor Razzie to Kirk Cameron?

Moviegoers disagreed.  The film opened in 4th place and went on to make $33.5 million at the box office.
