The weekend isn't over yet.  It is estimated that Meet the Spartans made $6,660,000 on Friday.  Weekend estimates are coming tomorrow.

That said, moviegoers in the U.S.A. have a history of not championing the best movies at the box office.  Don't believe me?  Just look at the top 4 from last year.  Are those really the four best movies of 2007?  No!  We just wanted to see them.

What are you talking about? The American public are great at how they choose to spend their money on films. Those movies must just be too deep for you to understand. Like MEET THE SPARTANS.

I read on Box Office Mojo that Meet the Spartans & Rambo came in at 1 & 2, arguably making both movies "the lesser of two evils" over the weekend...

Since Meet the Spartans is a hit (unfortunately), we'll probably get yet another entry in the "stupid spoofs" series.

Who are these stoopid spoof fans?  They seem to exist, as they make these movies successful, but nowhere can I find any evidence of their existence.  And what does Carmen Electra as Spider(wo)man being fired by Trump (who loses his wig) have to do with the 300 based content?  CNN indicates that teens and young adults liked the movie, but I can't see those people enjoying this crap.  It's as if the Aaron and Jason fans are just an urban legend, like the Loch Ness Monster.

At the same time, who are these Paris Hilton fans?  And Rambo fans?

Well, I think Fantasy Movie may be the next "spoof" from Aaron and Jason.

They should do something useful and spoof this year's election campaign.  There's plenty of material, both from the Democrats and the Republicans.  Although, one could make a case that an American presidential campaign is already a spoof. . . .

My 11 year-old son desperately wanted to see SPARTANS, so we went on a Saturday matinee. My response?  While it was overfull with the usual groan-inducing visual and verbal puns, and the whole Pairs-Hilton-as-the-Hunchback thing did not work at all, it wasn't nearly as laugh free or lame as either DATE MOVIE or EPIC MOVIE.

We decided, as long as we were at a multiplex, to make it a double feature, so we also saw CLOVERFIELD. I must say, I was Berry Impressed. It's been ages since I found any "monster movie" as involving, exciting and original as this. And, of course, the movie-going public (after giving it a record-breaking launch) are deserting CLOVERFIELD in droves -- Its second weekend numbers were down over 65% from the first. If this lack of interest in good film-making is a reflection of American movie-goers' tastes, that goes a LONG way toward explaining why Hollywood makes three or four RAMBOs or EPIC MOVIEs for every one CLOVERFIELD that sneaks by their genericize-everything radar...

Cloverfield is the best film of this year...well, I actually loved it! I gave it 8/10 but I sound like I'm giving it a 10/10...but I'm so obsessed with it I really wanna buy it on HD-DVD.

I was blown away by "Cloverfield". It was millions times better than "The Blair Witch Project". Unlike "Blair Witch", there was an immediate threat. "Blair Witch" was, essentially, three morons (one of them a Razzie winner) walking around while some old b/witch moved things. Also, "Cloverfield" didn't try to pass itself off as true. Everyone knew that "Blair Witch" was fake going in.

There another spoof movie coming called Super Hero Movie on March 28th here The Plot Summary from Coming Soon.net: Finally, the guys behind the outrageously silly "Scary Movie" franchise have used their own 'special powers' to spoof superhero movies. After being bitten by a genetically altered dragonfly, high school loser Rick Riker develop superhuman abilities like incredible strength and armored skin. Rick decides to use his new powers for good and becomes a costumed crime fighter known as "The Dragonfly." However, standing in the way of his destiny is the villainous Lou Landers. After an experiment gone wrong, Lou develops the power to steal a person's life force and in a dastardly quest for immortality becomes the supervillain, "The Hourglass." With unimaginable strength, unbelievable speed and deeply uncomfortable tights, will the Dragonfly be able to stop the sands of The Hourglass and save the world? More importantly, will we stop laughing long enough to notice?

The only thing keeping these two from getting the title "Worlds Worst Director Ever" is Uwe Boll. Sorry SchumacherH8ter, Joel isn't even in these guys league. Yes I know, he nearly ruined the Batman Franchise, I get that, but he also directed A Time Too Kill and Tigerland, which were pretty good movies. These three have yet to even make a movie that can be considered below average.

Now back to this movie (I'm using that term loosely), All i have to say about this movie is that on IMDB it stands at a 2, for a comparison, The Asylums Rip-off movie I Am Omega is at a 3.2... Nuff said, Nuff said.

I HATED "A Time To Kill", but I'll give you "Tigerland". The main problem I have with Schumacher is what he did with Batman. I was the biggest Batman fan as a child. He was my hero. Then I saw this. It was like discovering Santa wasn't real.

I was just watching "The Soup", and they had something about this. They had a fake trailer for "Reference Movie", where they had people referencing scenes from "Date Movie", "Epic Movie", and "Meet The Spartans". It's exactly like Aaron Seltzer and Jason Friedberg's steaming piles of dogsh*t.
