Maybe the studios ought to give a little thought to the idea that they've milked the comic book geek crowd out of just about every penny that they aren't saving for more comic books. I wouldn't mind seeing The Dark Knight series continue. Apart from that, I'm not interested in any of this other crap.

Yeah, you can take into account that for the past decade, we've had comic book movies being unleased onto the public every year, sometimes 4 or 5 movies at a time. I think movie goers are just burnt out on the fad. After 2012, it's time for Hollywood to take a break with the superhero movies and move on to something else.

The Four Horsemen of the Moviepocalypse: uncalled for sequels/remakes/reboots, 3-D surcharges, untalented "celebrities", and anything with Michael Bay's name attached to it.

Well I hope they can come up with SOME way to bust blocks that people appreciate like they loved the best comic book superhero themed movies of 2000-2010.

I don't want to know what Burn thinks is next, but if we get overloaded with nominees for a potential "Worst Film Everyone Saw" category, I may put a lot more documentaries on my Top 40 for the years to come.

I would have to point out that an awful lot of the superhero movies haven't been hits. No matter how good you make these movies look, a lot of them have an audience that consists of young males who can't get dates, and that cuts the potential audience in half out of the gates. Wink

Not really, if you take into account that comic book nerds will probably go in groups so that they could then spend the next six hours debating over if they liked it or not, or how well it compares to other comic book movies (I have seen such an event happen with my own eyes).

The good news is that the reboot every dissapointed fan has been waiting for has been confirmed. The bad news is that it won't be a reboot, it'll be a sequel.

Wait, that sentence makes no sense. You mean like how they did the Edward Norton version of "The Hulk"?

True as that may be, there is no expansion of the base audience...it's not like these comic book nerds are going to go out and get dates who otherwise wouldn't have seen the movie and convince them to go along. That reminds me of funny story though...We were at a movie a few years ago and there was one of those pre-movie entertainment slides on the screen that noted that the trailer for the second installment of Lord of the Rings got something like a million internet views within the first 2 hours of its release. Some wiseguy a few seats over from us piped in, "Yeah, but they were all by the same guy." I thought it was hilarious...and probably not all that far from the truth.

Okay, but this time in plain American English, please! Is it a sequel that will follow the storyline of the first movie (like "Dark Knight" was to "Batman Begins:), OR, will it be a sequel which follows its own storyline that is different in various plotpoints (like the Edward Norton "Hulk" was to the Ang Lee "Hulk")?

This is what happens when you post vague ramblings.

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Though I can't claim to fully understand all of his posts, I think we ought to cut Vits some slack, as English is not his native language (as he repeatedly pointed out in his early posts) and he's one of the livelier members of this Forum...

You would have to be one sad shut-in to be that pitiful! It was probably more like 100 nerds watching it 10,000 times each!

It'll be a regular sequel. And I confused you purpose. I have a sick, twisted sense of humor. Moo-a-ha-ha!

I liked both Thor and Green Lantern although I preferred Thor.
I even think Thor was better than X-men first class.

Which marvel comic is next?

Following the sequel to the DC comic character preceding a movie one of the worst they can see.
