God! I mean, good for him for trying to breakout of his image and look more masculine, but there are other ways to do that.

Now stuff from the 90s is being remade?

So if Bieber is playing the Whalberg part, then I guess Selena Gomez would end up playing the Witherspoon part.

Oh, and since we are on the subject of people attempting comebacks with remakes: LINK

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are much more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

So he's gonna tattoo "SELENA 4 EVA" on his chest with a ball-point pen? Is Demi Lovato gonna play Alyssa Milano's role? There's some leaked photos of her that look like a scene from Embrace Of The Vampire.

We've had the discussion about ten Worst Picture nominations:

1. Our voting membership is too small

2. Even AMPAS is more or less dumping the 10 nomination format. Rules changes this year will require that all nominees beyond the top 5 receive a certain number of first place votes to make the ballot, so the actual number of nominees will be at least 5, but probably less than 10. Figure on 7 or 8

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: The Oscar nominations have just been announced, and there are actually NINE nominees for Best Picture. Among them (inexplicably) is WAR HORSE, which has no other major nominations(??). Here's a LINK to see the full list...

I have just seen the Oscar nominations and just as I did last year, I am going to list my Top 5 People that the Academy Needs to Apologize To:

5. "Arthur Christmas", "The Adventures of Tintin", and "Winnie the Pooh" - You know something is clearly wrong when these three movies aren't nominated for Best Animated Feature.  Moviegoers are pissed.

4. Michael Rapaport and James Marsh - How are "Beats Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe called Quest" and "Project Nim" not nominees for Best Documentary Feature?  These two deserved a legitimate shot at that category and they got rejected.

3. Tilda Swinton - In other awards, she got a number of nods for her part in "We Need to Talk About Kevin".  How did she get overlooked by the Academy?

2. Bennett Miller and David Fincher - These two did a pretty good job directing "Moneyball" and "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".  Yet for some unknown reason, these guys choose Terrence Malick instead.  I have yet to know why.

1. The World - For choosing three overrated movies ("Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close", "The Help", and "War Horse") over a number of superior movies (including "Drive", "Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy", and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2"), the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has insulted moviegoers and critics all over the world and has proven themselves to be nothing more than silly fools with no common sense when it comes to choosing the best movies of the year.  Let the Oscar boycott begin!

You also forgot, Miguel, that various people on the internet are also cheesed off that Albert Brooks was not nominated for Best Supporting Actor for 'Drive'...
You see in this filmmaking world there's two types of people my friend. Those with the knowledge of film and those who think they do but really don't.

@Miguel:
1)What does the "Worst Excuse For A Movie" mean exactly?
2)I wouldn't say J. EDGAR is that overrated. It received several Best Actor nominations, but I don't think it got nominations for Best Movie (except from the AFI Awards). And while THE HELP was manipulative at times, it's not a bad movie overall.
3)It's alright if you don't like Peter Travers, but I think you need a better reason than that.
4)If I remember correctly, you awards consisted on your picks as well. When will you post them?

@Vits
1. It's a category for movies that shouldn't have been made or movies that aren't really movies at all.
2. "J. Edgar" made AFI's Top 10 and the National Board of Review's Top 10.  As for "The Help", I don't think a film with a Tomatometer rating of 76% is a legit Best Picture contender.  I thought about putting "War Horse" on there, but I didn't.
3. You should see the feedback he's getting from his videos.  Most of the comments say that the readers are tired of him reviewing bad movies and hardly mentioning any good ones.
4. When you say "When will you post your picks?", does that mean when I will vote or when I will post them on this forum?

So I just choose the one I think it's the worst?

But it is kind of a legit system. For example: If the nominees where the 10 movies with the highest scores on R.T. and/or Metacritic, how would AMPAS justify that they're not the ones with the most nominations, and that movies with lower scores got a lot more? THE HELP and WAR HORSE would still have been nominated in the other categories because they more likely deserve it.

You won't post them in that same site? Wait, you also vote in that poll? I thought your picks were chosen separately from the poll.

Project Nim was not only expected to be nominated as Best Documentary Feature, it was the odds on favorite to win....and it should have. This is one of the biggest Oscar injustices in years.

One man's opinion to be sure. I've seen 6 of the 9 nominated films and if I had a vote, The Help would be my selection as Best Picture. It is not only a legitimate choice this year, imho it is one of the best films of the last 4 or 5 years.

I'm surprised you loved it so much. I've seen all but Incredibly Loud and Extremely Close, but The Help is one of the inferior films in my opinion. I liked it enough, but I didn't feel it was all that great. However, I'm glad for Octavia Spencer after seeing her in those countless nurse roles she got in her acting career.

I'm in the same pool as MWG when it comes to how many Best Picture nominees I've seen. While I agree that The Help is the weakest of all the ones I've seen, it's still a REALLY good movie and I hope that Octavia Spencer wins.

The snubbing of Drive and the Best Picture nod for Extremely Bad Looking & Incredibly Opportunistic* is disgusting and represenative of how people complain about the Oscars being out of touch.

*Three minutes into this video, the author mentions that the first draft was written without a mention of 9/11, which means that they're literally taking advantage of 9/11! Link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGwQ2BFqp-0&feature=related
