I'm back from Looper and it's seriously one of the best movies of the year. It's an awesome action movie AND it's a complex morality parable. It's something an intelligent person would love. So, of course, I heard a bunch of people bitching about it not having enough 'splosions while walking out of the theater*. Grade: A+
Also, I'll finally get around to reviewing Gulliver's Travels '10 sometime today.

*Note: I'm not saying anyone who doesn't like Looper is an idiot. If you have an actual reason to dislike it than you're not an idiot. If you don't like how little 'splosions there are, you're an idiot.

HeadRAZZ already confirmed that TAKEN 2 will be getting an Official Forum this week, but I think we should also keep an eye on these other movies:

-SO UNDERCOVER (starring L.O.L.'s Miley Cyrus): The main problem is that it's unclear who the target audience is supposed to be.

-THE PAPERBOY (starring THE LUCKY ONE's Zac Efron and THE RAVEN's John Cusack): The director may be PRECIOUS' Lee Daniels, but that doesn't take away the possibilities those actors have of getting Razzie nominations in the fall.

-WUTHERING HEIGHTS: Just like last year with THE 3 MUSKETEERS, we get the billionth adaptation of a classic novel. But at least that movie tried to change the style! This one sounds like it's the same as all the other versions. What... is... the... point?!

Seth MacFarlane will host the Oscars. Sounds good to me. The only negative thing is that they admitted that they use SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE as a way of testing hosts. In case you've never seen that show, I'll explain it: the host only has one monologue, and then it's all sketchs. How is that like the Oscar ceremony?!

HAYWIRE's Gina Carano will star in the female version of THE EXPENDABLES. I don't like this. Not because of her, but because there's no title, so probably there's also no script.

David Gordon Green will direct a film adaptation of LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. I'm not making that up. Apparently, his early movies were a lot different from YOUR HIGHNESS and THE SITTER in terms of... depth, I guess. Also, the script writer will be the same one who wrote SHAME. Cool. But she also wrote THE IRON LADY.

There's a HUGE difference between old David Gordon Green and the new one, which I like to call stoner David Gordon Green.

I was looking through Entertainment Weekly*, and in The Bullseye section they had a picture of Lindsay Lohan in Liz And Dick and under it it said "They give Razzies for TV-movie trailers, right?"

*it was supposed to come last Thursday, but my mailman is a dumbass.

Not to triple post, but, for reasons unknown to me, I looked up the imdb page for Seltzerberg's next movie and the FAQ section is funnier than all their films combined. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2403029/faq

October is going to be such a thoroughly mixed month for movies... Sinister & Holy Motors, come to me!
Yet there are two movies with the overrated word BOOM in the title and I can't help being annoyed of Kevin James from the trailer already.

Next for me, it'll be pretty boy Zac Efron's turn to proof he can act. And a little movie called "Battleship" on Saturday. A friend of mine brought home the Blue Ray, saying a friend of his said the story was sh*t but the visuals were stunning. So let's see what's going on there. If I survive BS, he also has Journey 2: Mysterious Island.

May I suggest that for next week, we have Two Worst Movies of the Week? The first one being Here Comes the Boom, a Kevin James movie directed by the same guy who did Zookeeper, also starring Salma Hayek, Charice, "The Fonz", and a few MMA fighters. Also, it looks to be a Nacho Libra rip-off.

The next one will be a movie coming the week after: Alex Cross, directed by the guy that brought us The Fast and the Furious, xXx, Stealth, and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Tyler Perry is already getting Razzie heat for his latest Madea movie, and I think that Alex Cross will be able to make be eligible for Worst Actor (also hopefully for Good Deeds) as well as Worst Actress for Madea's Witness Protection and Worst Director for the same thing (and hopefully Good Deeds too.) Other possible contenders are Lost's Matthew Fox for Worst Supportinng Actor, and possibly Worst Remake (The Alex Cross character has previously been used in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider, played by Morgan Freeman.)

Way to go, Miguel; you have Elizabeth Banks, Anna Kendrick, AND Jennifer Lawrence (HUHHHHHHH?????) in you Worst Actress list...but NOT Kate Hudson (A Little Bit of Heaven), January Jones (Seeking Justice), OR Taylor Schilling (The Lucky One)? And ALSO Ms. Banks in Supporting Actress, instead of Whoopi Goldberg (A Little Bit of Heaven) OR Tara Reid (American Reunion)?  How about BUYING a clue for your Birthday (if you think Jennifer Lawrence is a WORSE actress than Kate Hudson is)? And WHY are the What to Expect... actresses all together in one slot when Jennifer Lopez is clearly worse that the rest of them (in the movie AND in general)? No wonder sites like Gawker blasted the Razzies a new one last year...
Should've been Razzed- Kate Hudson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Sean Penn, Gerard Butler, Chelsea Handler, Maggie Grace, Sherri Shepard, Chris Klein, Robert DeNiro, Tim Burton, The Devil Inside

To The Larch: A Little Bit of Heaven is not a RAZZIE contender. Not only do I not know how anyone's gonna get it through the ballots, but it's way too small. There should've been a forum for it back in May when we had the chance if we thought there was any.

To Antilsu and oiram: My biggest objections are the usual ones. SO many nominations for The Expendables 2, John Carter, and The Three Stooges, whose approval ratings are too high to be among ours. Wasting a few nominations in the 4 acting categories on collective nods rendered redundant by Worst Ensemble Cast. FAR too many medleys, triples, quartets, and multi-film couples in Worst Couple. Even keeping Worst Couple at all.

But mad props for splitting Worst PSRR into Worst Remake or Rip-Off and Worst Prequel or Sequel!

On topic: Because Sinister was from the director of The Day the Earth Stood Still [remake], I thought it would suck. But it has 100% approval rating so far. If the pre-screening is to be believed, score one for Most Surprisingly Good Film!

As for Here Comes the Boom, not only is it from the director of 3 or 4 of my past Bottom 40ers AND stars Kevin James, it's one of those long-in-the-making and later delayed films. That's my main Wide Release suspect for Oct. 12. The worst Limited Release will, unless Los Angeles and NYC have anything to say, be Atlas Shrugged Part II, which we thought for a while would never be made.
RAZZIE Dirty Dozen: Battlefield Earth, F G Fingered, Pluto Nash, A Sound of Thunder, Alone in the Dark, Dirty Love, Rise Silver Srfr, Daddy Day Camp, IKWKM, The Love Guru, All About Steve, Airbender

Miguel: You posted several films that can't be nominated because they were weren't released in New York or L.A. Also, I know we are all entitled to our opinions (especially when we post potential nominees knowing they had good reviews and won't be in consideration) but do you really think the right-wing docs have any chance of being up for Worst Picture? How, if they're all the same to most of us? I think that's why we're considering creating a Special Category specifically for them.

You should have noticed that the guy writing the movie was C. Robert Cargill AKA Carlyle from Spill dot com.

I usually edit my post, but I'm afraid that if I don't just post this no one will notice. Anyways:

Lone Ranger teaser. Wow, I can see that the movie is going to be effects heavy.

I do sense another John Carter. I will wait till the reviews come out.

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: I added a Main Page LINK to the LONE RANGER teaser on YouTube earlier today -- My take: It looks alarmingly/unfortunately similar to our 1999 Worst Picture "winner" WILD WILD WEST...

Pictures move, do they?
