That is exactly my point. The documentary is already in post-production, and does not include any recent developments yet.
It is more or less gloriyfying Armstrong as a legend, so who would want to see THAT movie, knowing now it was all beeswax (what with a thousand pages of proof he is guilty as hell). There is a difference between a sports star who was actually good, and then fell for whatever reason, and a sports star whose whole career was based on doping. One might get pity, the other one is loathed. Different approaches. They should wait and see how things will go on further and then ADD the recent developments. As of right now, the anger and disappointment are still deep, things like "There is no place for Armstrong in our sport" are thrown around, which WILL eventually make for a far more interesting film. Right now, the last thing people want to see is Armstrong being portrayed as the sports wonder we now know he wasn't. If they make the appropriate changes, and tell the whole story (and not just half of it) THAT movie should be interesting -- But not the one they were planning on releasing soon with God's rays lit around Armstrong. But Gibney knows what he is doing. Little fun fact: they were thinking of giving the Tour-de-France titles to the reserve winners, out of which three times the title would have gone to Jan Ullrich, who was accused of doping himself, so they decided to just scratch those years. |

I've been thinking, could we bring back the Worst New Star category? Before you say "There's not enough people," Let me list the choices for you:
Taylor Kitsch/Battleship (and also John Carter and Savages)
Rihanna/Battleship
Gregory D Gadson/Battleship
Every 100% real authentic U.S. Navy SEALs and U.S. Navy Special Warfare Combatant Crewmen/Act of Valor
The new "serious" Tyler Perry/Alex Cross and Good Deeds (Just like what was done in 96 with Sharon Stone)
Whoever were in those freaky and nauseating costumes/The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure
The entire cast of The Devil Inside
Yu Nan/The Expendables 2
Natasha Calis/The Possession
The Jersey Shore cast members/The Three Stooges
Ryan Guzman/Step Up Revolution
Kathryn McCormick/Step Up Revolution
Fergus Riordan/Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance
Mackenzie Foy/The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2
Victoria Justice/Fun Size
Thomas Mann/Fun Size and Project X
Shane Dawson/Smiley
Richard Ayoade/The Watch
Dax Flame/Project X, 21 Jump Street, and The Watch
Cheryl Cole/What to Expect When You're Expecting

Oiram: Good list, but I do have one criticism: Can we not nominate U.S. Army veterans? I mean, we avoided nominating the Navy SEALS from Act of Valour, so why can't we avoid nominating him? RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Not that I necessarily want to encourage the notion of bringing Worst New Star back from the dead (just in time for Halloween) but who are you referring to from Oiram's list that's a "U.S. Army veteran"??? |

The "U.S. Army veteran" is Gregory D Gadson. If you saw Battleship, he's the guy without the legs. That is because he actually lost them in battle. I feel bad in that respect, however, that doesn't excuse his acting in Battleship, which was not good.
Oh, and Jesse, thank you for reminding me of Act of Valor, I almost forgot.
EDIT: Wait a minute, "Not that I necessarily want to encourage the notion of bringing Worst New Star back from the dead"? Are you saying you DON'T want the award back? I can understand being unable to use it due to there not being enough contestants, but now you DON'T want to use it? Why?
RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: The optimal number of categories to keep our ceremony to an hour or so in length is 10 (which is what we had this past Spring, without any "special" categories - LINK). There have already been multiple suggestions on this Forum for other "special" and/or "returning" awards this year, among them Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie and Worst Propaganda Movie (this one has had several suggested titles, but I assume you know which concept I mean).
At this time, I am entertaining the notion of maybe having ONE Special Category, but am not convinced, because it would add to the length of our show (and our ballot) that it would be worth our time to bother doing. One solution may be to put the idea of adding a "Special Category" this year up to our Voting Members...
P.S. Looking over your list of potential contenders for Worst New Star, a fair number of them would already be covered by the existing categories of Worst Screen Couple and/or Worst Screen Ensemble...

Really, HeadRAZZ? There aren't ways for you to squeeze in more categories? Since the Razzies parody other award ceremonies, you must've noticed what they do when they have new categories... Anyway, if Worst New Star were to come back, it wouldn't count as a Special Category because it was already given for many years and wasn't a one-time thing. Now that I think about it, maybe Worst Excuse for a Horror Movie should not come back for that same reason.
His "breakout" role was in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.
He's done serious movies in the past, like WHY DID I GET MARRIED?.
As HeadRAZZ said, Worst Ensemble will cover those.
You mean that it doesn't excuse his acting, right? I also have him in consideration. We had a similar conversation about not nominating Stallone because his son died. Gadson's real life has nothing to do...WAIT! Actually, it does. The whole point of casting him was having him use his real-life experiences to help him "emote," which he couldn't even do. Same with the cast of ACT OF VALOR. |

Here are my "Counter Arguments" to some of Vits' points above:
Counter Argument:
Chris Tucker's first big role was in Friday with Ice Cube. However, when The Fifth Element and Money Talks came around, he STILL got nominated for Worst New Star. I assume it is because Ice Cube was technically the main chaacter in Friday, and Chris was supporting, while in Money Talks, Chris was the star.
Counter Argument:
Sharon Stone, before her similar nomination, was in Casino, which can be considered a serious movie. Casino came out in 95. The movies she was nominated for came in 96. Also, those movies that Tyler starred in recently are meant to be a different kind of "serious" from what Tyler Perry usually does.
Yeah, I meant "doesn't" -- Sorry about that!

The "red band" trailer for the Evil Dead remake has just been officially released.
It's the same as the Comic-Con footage, but with much clearer images.

New releases here: DREDD 3D, FRANKENWEENIE, BAHÍA AZUL (a guy feels melancholic in a house by the shore), FOR GREATER GLORY, VERANO (a bunch of vignettes about people who stare at each other), and, THE BOURNE LEGACY. What should I do?

Ashton Kutcher is TV's highest paid actor? So we have Kutcher and Vergara for TV, and Cruise and Stewart for movies. With a few exceptions, the rule seems to be, the crappier your acting, the more you get paid...
On another note, The Perks of being a Wallflower is a great little movie, very enjoyable. Logan Lerman is good enough, Emma Watson is one classy young lady, and lovely to watch. As is Nina Dobrev, I barely remembered her from The Roommate. |

I know. people are complaining about the fact that it's directed by John Moore (the guy behind Max Payne) and that it's gonna be PG-13. But hey, the last one was PG-13, and it was good, so you know what...
