We should give a Retro Razzie Award to: "I'm erect, why aren't you erect?" from SHOWGIRLS.

How about a national telecast of The Razzies on network TV? I don't think UPN has anything on that would be greatly missed...

Maybe if we pitched that to IFC, they might actually consider it...

Perhaps a "Should Have Gone Straight To BETA" Award for worst DVD release...

Hell...it could even be done for movies already active...

I heard BETA is still used in third-world countries. A perfect place for crappy movies.

There could be a worst design award...for those outfits and sets that looked like they came out of a Salvation Army store...

Perhaps call it the Uwe Boll Memorial Award...

I like the idea of Joe Eszterhas Worst Screenplay award and Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property. For the latter catergory I'd nominate:

THE ISLAND

WAR OF THE WORLDS

MR. AND MRS. SMITH

BATMAN BEGINS

I'll leave the last one open since the year's not over yet and we still have KING KONG, among others, to see...

Can we get an award for worst Casting Director?  Some of the people the Casting Directors think are 'perfect' for their roles prove that they must still be doing massive drugs in Hollywood...

I don't really like the idea of Tabloid Scandal Award (or whatever) because it is not really an achievement in a Movie. Just stick to the movies!

Bring back Original Song is good idea!

And what about a Worst Costume Design Award, for the movies that allowed actresses to show the most skin to sell tickets. Dukes of Hazzard, Mr and Mrs Smith, etc....

Maybe for 2006, we should start Worst Animated Feature, we won't be able to do that for the 2005 Razzies, but maybe for 2006. So far, HOODWINKED is the first 2006 Animated Film released in theaters, and it's not getting good reviews fron critic's, so HOODWINKED is our first option for Worst Animated Feature. The Oscars are having only three animated film to get Oscar nominations, so, the Razzies will have to do the same.

Well, I think HOODWINKED is our first option for Worst Original Song, there's some more coming out later on in the year, CURIOUS GEORGE (Universal, February 10), DOOGAL (Weinstein Company, February 24), ICE AGE 2 (20th Century Fox, March 31), THE WILD (Disney, April 14), OVER THE HEDGE (DreamWorks, May 19), CARS (Disney/Pixar, June 9), FLUSHED AWAY (DreamWorks, November 3), and HAPPY FEET (Warner, November 17). So far, 9 animated films will be released this year, only 3, I think, will end up being Razzie contenders for Worst Animated Feature.

Here's a poster of the first Animated Film of 2006, most likely a Razzie contender for Worst Animated Feature, HOODWINKED.

Hate to break this tooya, "sportsartist24," but HOODWINKED was technically a 2005 release -- It played a one week "awards qualifying" engagement in LA starting December 16 of last year (here's a B.O. MoJo LINK to check its grosses & release date). Since we follow Academy rules on such things, HOODWINKED qualified for this year's 26th Annual RAZZIES, and is not eligible for next year's 27th...

well, alright, but you'll also have to qualify VALIANT and one more animated film released in 2005, perhapes CHICKEN LITTLE or MADAGASCAR.
