The new Indiana Jones flick had a strong opening, but the audience reactions pouring in have been far less remarkable. I commented on another site earlier this week that I would be very intestered to see how this film tracks into its second weekend. Well, after only one week, Indy is relenting his fedora by no small margin to 'Sex and the City: The Movie.' I'd count that as an embarrassment, trumping even Shia LaBeouf channeling Tarzan in one of many cringe-worthy scenes in Crystal Skull. Take that whip Indy!

I'm sorry to say, "Indiana Jones 4" was too cheesy. SPOILERS AHEAD! I mean come, he lives through an A-Bomb test! And the whole thing with aliens at the end, way too over the top. Will George Lucas ever learn to make small movies with common sense, rather than far-fetched, epic movies?!

Agreed...it was a bad movie.

Are you aware that that scene led to a new term which is considered the cinematic equavalent of "Jumping the Shark?"  It's called Nuking the Fridge.

So now when we say that something happens in a movie series that is either completely ridiculous (and/or ruins the series) we can say it "Nuked the Fridge."

BTW, Saw V is coming October 24th.  I liked the first and second, never saw any others, but we can probably all agree that this series "Nuked the Fridge" long ago...
