We're not exactly sure what the title BUNRAKU means (if it means anything at all) but this posting means you're free to make wild guesses -- and poke pointed jibes -- at one of 2011's most mysteriously titled movies.

So, go on -- Get guessin' folks!!

P.S. If you'd like to read my "Official Take" on this film, here's the LINK to do so...

The "Official Take" on this compares it to an SBD -- I'd say a movie this high profile being kept out of release for over 3 years suggests it's likelier to be a "WTF"!!

The last time something was "held from release" for this long, it was All About Steve, and we all know what a GREAT movie that was...NOT!

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Actually, it was the discovery that this film "lived in a vault" for over 3 years that was the final factor in my choosing it over WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER (R.T. LINK) as our Worst of the Weak "winner". While NUMBER does look like it could be #2, this one actually looks Monumentally Worse...

I enjoy a good movie, but if it's the right one, I LOVE a BAD MOVIE!

EUdict.com tells me "Bunraku" is a traditional Japanese theatre style similar to Kabuki theatre.

I've heard the word "Bunraku" before. Stan Marsh's ancient Japanese ninja alternate form is "Sharuhachi", wielding the Tonfas of Takanawa, dedicated to getting rid of evil, and people he doesn't like. Kyle Brovlofski, with his Nunchaku of Sakuramoto, became Bunraku, a compassionate ninja who helps those in trouble. Eric Theodore Cartman, with a pair of sais, became Bullrog, a tough, brute ninja who seeks to purge the world of Hippies. Ninja Master Kenny was a muffled, orange ninja with a Plebeian flare who would throw his shuriken as a desperate last resort.

UPDATE: To oiram: Only a matter of time before someone else would mention the 3 RAZZIE contenders that Perlman starred in this year. I imagine it would be on the ballot, but if not, I'll write it in.

R.T.(15-20%): "It admirably strives for visual panache, but the staging, acting and effects are dismal, with a complete lack of excitement."

Poor Ron Perlman. He's a favorite actor of mine, but now he's in not one, not two, but THREE Razzie considered films. (This, Conan, and Season of the Witch.) Is he going to be on the ballots because of this?
Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

Worst Supporting Actor: Brendan Fraser/Gimme Shelter and The Nut Job

Perlman was kinds weak in Drive, but not weak enough to be a Razzie-nominee.

I didn't say anything about Drive. I actually thought he dodged a major bullet when he turned down playing Piccolo in Dragonball Evolution, but I guess he's "making up for it" now.

Honestly, I think he might have been able to pull that role off, if given the right script and director.

Whenever I read the title of this movie I think to myself:

'Who comissioned this movie? Kraft Foods ('Bun' in the title)?'
You see in this filmmaking world there's two types of people my friend. Those with the knowledge of film and those who think they do but really don't.
