MEMBER-STARTED FORUM:

KICK-A** HAS AN INTERESTING PREMISE, EVEN FOR A COMIC BOOK. FLATULENT HUMOR AND CURSE WORDS ARE TURNED INTO SUPERHEROES! ALAS, IT'S CONSIDERED ONE OF THE MOST AWFUL COMIC BOOK SERIES IN RECENT DECADES. THE FIRST FILM ADAPTATION WASN'T TOO BAD...

BUT WHEN THEY MADE A SEQUEL WHOSE BETA NAME WAS "BALLS TO THE WALL", I KNEW THEY WERE LOOKING FOR TROUBLE, MORE THAN EVER. THIS TIME, MANY CRISES HAVE BEEN AVERTED. THEY CUT THE SCENE THAT LOOKED LIKE THE SANDY HOOK MASSACRE, AND ANOTHER LIGHTLY-TAKEN SCENE THAT INVOLVED A RAPE (!)

BUT EVEN WITHOUT SUCH INSENSITIVE CHICKEN-S*** MOCKERY, THIS IS STILL ONE SUCK-*** FILM THAT DAMPENS THE CARTOONISH, LARGER-THAN-LIFE VIOLENCE AND IRONY.

...AND IT FEATURES JIM CARREY AS COLONEL "STARS AND STRIPES", CHLOE GRACE MORETZ (MOVIE 43), JOHN LEGUIZAMO (THE HAPPENING, ONE FOR THE MONEY), DONALD FAISON (SKYLINE), AND MORRIS CHESTNUT (HALF PAST DEAD, ANACONDAS: HUNT FOR THE BLOOD ORCHID)!

BUT AT LEAST, BECAUSE THE CAST IS ADEQUATELY WELL-KNOWN, WE HAVE AN EXPLANATION IF THE COMMON FILMGOING PUBLIC LIKES IT MORE THAN THE CRITICS DID.

WE, ON THE OTHER HAND, SHOULD CONSIDER IT FOR WORST ACTRESS, WORST SCREENPLAY, AND WORST SEQUEL, THEN OPEN A CAN OF RAZZBERRY WHOOP-*** ON IT NEXT WINTER!

NOW THAT I'VE GOTTEN YOU ALL STARTED, THROW YOUR HALF-TON IRON BALLS TO THE WALL AND KICK SOME PSEUDO-HERO A** IN THE DISCUSSION BELOW!

FOUR FACES OF SUPER ZEROES! BALLS TO THE WALL THE BANG A DANG DIGGY DIGGY DIGGY SAID THE BUGGY SAID UP JUMP THE BOOGY!

I thought you said you were waiting till August 28?

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Actually, that August 28 deadline appears in GTAHater767's signature at the bottom of his post...so I, too, am confused as to why this is showing up now?

Since I did not intend to set up an Official Forum on this title, it's not a big deal -- but I am curious...

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

Worst Supporting Actor: Brendan Fraser/Gimme Shelter and The Nut Job

Also, he forgot to mention Christopher Mintz-Plasse (who is also in Movie 43).

I heavily disagree with the idea of nominating Chloe Moretz (she's the best part of the film) and mildly disagree with nominating it for Worst Screenplay (the writer's had the bright idea to remove the horrible, horrible scenes). However, I would not be opposed to Christopher Mintz-Plasse being nominated for Worst Supporting Actor.

Also, a Kick-Ass 3 comic is being released now. I've read the first two issues and so far, it's actually good. Of course, nothing really offensive has happened. When Mark Millar isn't trying to be offensive, he's actually a pretty good writer. Read Superman: Red Son for example. But also because it's a damn good comic!

It's happened before, and there is actually one more film Chloe will star in: the remake of Carrie (the second movie she will have a period in this year). If that is bad, then she might be nominated for all three films she starred in, just to have a three-some nomination.

Mark Millar recently said that if the FANTASTIC FOUR reboot works, there'll be movie cross-over with X-MEN. What does that have to do with KICK-ASS? Nothing, I just thought it was worth mentioning.

To HeadRAZZ: I forgot to tell you, that "deadline" was the latest date that I would have these unofficial forums running by, rather than the soonest. I pulled it forward because no-one posted any replies to the Planes and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters forums. So I decided to strike this one before the iron cooled.

To SchumacherH8ter: I only named Chloe Grace-Moretz because of her previous bad film. As opposed to most of you, where the acting categories are all about the performance, I tend to judge it based on the film as a whole. I'd rather nominate a bad film for a good performance than a good film for a bad performance, and at least I can say that with a good performance, the actor/actress shouldn't have signed on.

To Oiram: I didn't mention Mintz-Plasse because I'm not familiar with him. But if Grace-Moretz were nominated for this, Movie 43, and (if it gets panned like I think it will) the Carrie remake, I'd be satisfied, because all three films sucked, and then more bad films would make the RAZZIE finals.

Nominations this movie deserves:

Worst Picture: The first movie was good because it had a good dose of satirical humor. The satire revolving around putting costumed heroes in real-life situations. In this disappointing sequel the satire is absent and in its place is crude humor. I don't mind crude humor as long as it is clever. It was not the case in this movie.

Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-off or Sequel: My comments for Worst Picture have already explained why it is worthy of a nomination for this category.

Worst Director: Jeff Wadlow is mostly to blame for this inferior sequel. Unlike Matthew Vaughn, the director of the first Kick-Ass, Jeff Wadlow failed to make a decent action movie.

The plot direction was all over the place. This is mainly because Jeff Wadlow did not seem to take into account that this movie is an adaption of two comic book stories, Kick-Ass 2 and Hit-Girl. The latter being a spin-off of the first Kick-Ass comics. Wadlow failed to fully combine Kick-Ass 2 and Hit-Girl.

This is not really a surprise, unfortunately. Jeff Wadlow is the same director who directed the critically panned Never Back Down. Chloe Moretz effectively took a swipe at Jeff Wadlow by saying a third installment would be "logical" if there is a "good script and a director, probably Matthew".  It is obvious Moretz was referring to Matthew Vaughn, the director of the first Kick-Ass.

Worst Screenplay: As if the poor directing was bad enough Jeff Wadlow also wrote the screenplay. It is no wonder there is stupid, crude humor in this movie instead of satire. Jeff Wadlow's script focused too much on action and not enough on The Motherf****r's (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) escalation against the costumed heroes.

Worst Screen Couple: Aaron Taylor-Johnson & Chloe Grace Moretz. While the performances were good (the only highlight of this sequel) I cannot overlook the ending.

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The ending contradicted the sibling-like bond Kick-Ass (Taylor-Johnson) and Hit-Girl (Moretz) developed earlier in the movie.

Directed by Michael Bay and M. Night Shyamalan comes...a movie guaranteed to win Razzies!

I have a question for those who've seen it. Here, the movie is rated "For people over 7". Is that an appropriate rating?

This film isn't appropriate for people under 17 at the least. What's the Chilean version of out R-rating?

In Chile we have 4 ratings: "All ages", "Over 7", "Over 14" and "Over 18". In the latter two, kids and teens can enter with an adult, unless it's a porn or the censors consider it has excessive violence.

I just saw it. I don't think it should be nominated for anything.

Are you sure it was a sibling-like bonding? I noticed hints throughout the movie. Like KATIE accussing DAVE of sleeping with her, MINDY getting aroused when DAVE took his shirt off... and specially the scene where she goes into his room while he's sleeping, and he comforts her telling her she's beautiful (among other things). Either way, it didn't seem like DAVE liked her back.
