I'm also really happy that Cillian Murphy is getting recognized for his great year ( Globe nomination for Breakfast on Pluto, Critical praise for Red-Eye, and this nomination for Batman Begins. He also came in, Admittedly a distant ,second place to Nicholson's Joker on an IMDB poll as the Best Batman movie villan since the movies were modernized in 89.) For some reason they didn't include the Villans for the 1968 ( I think), film. I loved Danny De Vito's Penguin ( Razz, why on earth would you nominate that performance? Hell, he was not only a nominee for Best Villan from the MTV movie awards, as well as a Saturn award, but He was one of the nominees for AFI's all-time Best villans ever), but Burgess Merideth was better in that role. Although Nicholson was a much better Joker than Romero, and Pfeiffer was a superior Catwoman. I think both Frank Gorshin and Jim Carrey were equally good as the Riddler. Oh, and Eli Wallach ( And everyone else) was a better Mr. Freeze than the Governator. |
