At a January 2006 Members Only Event, one of our voters went on at length about a Sneak Preview he'd seen of something we pegged as a Sure-Fire RAZZIE® Contender months before its release -- Something SO GOOD its release was postponed from summer 2005 February 2006: The Steve Martin remake of PINK PANTHER. Our RAZZIE® Source told us PANTHER suffered Mutliple Walk-Outs, Loud Booing and Absolutely Horrible Reponse Cards. Sounded unfixable to us...But Berry Worthy of Our Attention in The 27th Annual RAZZIE Awards!!

Oh God, I'm about to rant: Just when Kevin Kline was getting past the memory of Wild Wild West, with good performances in ( And earning Golden Globe and Screen Actor's guild nominations for) De-lovely and Life as a House, he's gotta make another big mistake. Kevin you are a great actor, why must you do this? (Ok, I'm done)

Well, We gotta give a thumbs up to Jackie Chan, since he turned down the
role of Kato, even though he was allegedly offered a million dollars.

And an even bigger thumbs up to Herbert Lom who wanted nothing to do
with this so-called "PRE-QUEL"...

After this and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2," maybe Steve Martin should stick to writing books and plays. He's getting to be as much of an indicator of Bad Movies as Eugene Levy, fer kripesakes!
Nobody LUVS movies more than ME!

They should have stopped making Pink Panther movies after Petter Sellers' death...

Well, at least I'm not in the marketing department of Sweet N Lo. They
created an advertising campaign with this turkey that was supposed to start
last June. Think of all that inventory with Steve Martin's mug plastered on
the boxes and it's delayed for 8 months. It just sits in a warehouse. Sweet N
Lo stockholders should be real happy about that...

Wow, this movie completely fell off the face of the Earth.  I remember seeing a trailer of it last summer and wondered what happened.  There is no way anyone can match Peter Sellers: no way.  That's why they shouldn't have bothered.

John Cleese might have done a better job as Clouseau...but DEFINITELY not as bad as Martin...

The sad part is Steve Martin is now a bad comedy whore when once he was an original comedy icon. He is America's Eugene Levy. I can't even bear the thought of having my mind raped for two hours having to endure "The New Pink Panther" or "Cheaper by the Dozen... 12" but I can still watch "The Jerk" and laugh...

THe truth is that when Steve Martin finally grew up, he REALLY became THE
JERK!

Even William Shatner was a better Clouseau, and he played it STRAIGHT
on Broadway ("L'idiote" a.k.a. "A Shot In THe Dark" in the 50s...)

yep, that's right, JoeBacon, Steve Martin absolutely became THE JERK. But, of couse, he's done a lot of horrible films in the past.
The Mormons were'nt really popular in the beginning, they're now becoming more popular, even in Hollywood.

Whoa! I just came back from an afternoon show of this and... Wow! It was freaking awful! One of the most unfunny "comedies" I've ever seen in my life. How could Steve Martin have fallen so far from great films lke THE JERK and PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES?!?

This one definately qualifies for next year's Razzies!

WORST PICTURE

WORST DIRECTOR - Shawn Levy

WORST ACTOR - Steve Martin

WORST ACTRESS - Beyonce Knowles

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR - Kevin Kline

WORST SUPPORTING ACTRESS - Emily Mortimer

WORST SCREEN COUPLE - Steve Martin & Beyonce Knowles

WORST SCREENPLAY - Len Blum & Steve Martin

WORST REMAKE OR SEQUEL

Marv, You forgot to add

WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR--KEVIN KLINE, JEAN RENO, HENRY CZERNY,

WORST SCREEN COUPLE--STEVE MARTIN AND ANY JERK STUPID ENOUGH
TO SHARE THE SAME FRAME OF FILM WITH HIM

Also--In the early "gestation" of this mutant, Chris Tucker, Kevin Spacey
and
Mike Myers were considered for the role of Clouseau, with Ivan Reitman
directing. All wisely disavowed this dreck!
