Hanks is a 5 time Oscar nominee, and a 2 time winner as Best Actor. Because he's such a great actor, there is no excuse if he gives a bad performance -- that's why we razz him harder. Remember in 2010, Sandra Bullock won Worst Actress, then Best Actress the next day? The better of an actor you are, the more you have a target on your back when/if you do something lousy. This year though, there just aren't enough spots to consider Hanks, I think.
