A SCARY MOVIE RIP-OFF, THIS ONE SATIRIZING TEAR-JERKERS, ROMANTIC COMEDIES (and ANYTHING ELSE THE FILM-MAKERS CHOSE to THROW IN) http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=165&PN=1 - DATE MOVIE HAS THE DUBIOUS DISTINCTION of TAKING FIRST PLACE in THIS YEAR's http://akas.imdb.com/features/rto/2007/poll/worstresults - IMDB POLL NAMING THE BERRY WORST of 2006.

BUT WHAT SAY YOU??

Carmen Electra: "Oh, go ape sh*t! I didn't hear the ape part -- I thought you just told me to go sh*t...Can I get a clean bikini now, please?"

This movie's script is so sad. It actually feels like a ten year old had a girl classmate show him all of her favorite scenes from her favorite romantic comedies, then he took each scene and added a gross out joke (his favorite kind of humor) and had his main character experience each scene in random order. Then he added jokes from movies he liked, including Lord of the Rings and Star Wars, and finally he added a scene were a woman fake strips, because he thinks it's so risqué.

That could have been how this script was written!

Carmen Electra could have been on the ballot for a new category this year: Worst Cameo Appearance                                                  for both Date Movie and Scary Movie 4.

The ballot could have also included Dr. Phil for Scary Movie 4 and Rob Schnieder for Little man.

Up next from the guys who did DATE MOVIE is EPIC MOVIE, which should end up being the Worst New Movie of the Weak for January 26. There is another bad one coming out that same day, BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE, but which one of those will be picked as worst new movie of the week for January 26? Head RAZZ -- what will your decision be??

Response from Head RAZZberry: Although http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1490&PN=1 - EPIC MOVIE  looks awfully rotten, the trailer for http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1564&PN=1 - BLOOD & CHOCOLATE actually got laughed at when it played on the head of ROCKY BALBOA, so at this point, I'm inclined to go with Ludicrous Euro-Trash Werewolves rather than Bone-Headed American Satire for that week's Worst of the Weak...

Epic Movie doesn't look as bad as Date Movie, because the material parodied is actually able to be parodied. You can't parody romantic comedies! That is why Date Movie was so flat.

Blood and Chocolate looks like its about werewolves and not vampires, but I think it will still follow in the path of last year's two bad January vampire films. And it it is rated pg-13, and I don't know if it will help or hurt that it won't have all the gore that was in last year's vampire films.

I guess the guys at IMDb.com have a point of this being the #1 Worst New Movie of 2006 on IMDb. Of course, jb razz, you did mention one of them. It's that you can't parody romantic comedies.

Adam Campbell and Alyson Hannigan in 20th Century Fox's Date Movie

Of course, I guess Blood and Chocolate will be bad since Hollywood just has a hard time making good horror movies. But actually, Head RAZZ, you remember you put Epic Movie as one of the top Razzie Contenders for 2007. If it does make it on the Forum, it could be the #2 Worst New Movie of the Weak...

Well, I sort of got my wish. Carmen Electra was nominated for the same two
movies in the supporting actress category, and Rob was nominated for worst
actor??? along with his Benchwarmers "performance".

I've been looking at sportsartist's topic on Scary Movie 4, he knew it would be a Razzie contender, and he was right! Like you said, jb razz, Carmen Electra was nominated for those same two movies in the supporting actress category.

Let's see, Carmen Electra was nominated for Worst Supporting Actor for Starsky and Hutch in 2004, Dirty Love for 2005, and now this along with Scary Movie 4. That streak will continue occasionally.

Be careful with those kinds of pics, bruin. I definitely don't want to see anyone's eyes start hurting and making them scream, "Will I ever see again?"

I'm going to rent this film and watch it for Valentine's Day since it's coming up. I already know that it's a bad film, but still. Some people are just choosing to watch this to get their dating skills working well, but that's not why I'm choosing to rent this film.

Really, well, did you actually forget that this movie was voted as IMDb's Worst Film of 2006? Because I think you really forgot about that part.

Well, just watched this film, and yes, this was NOT the best Valentine's Day film to see. It was just plain dumb, and I mean plain dumb. I just think anyone who just enjoys having this film for a Valentine's Day gift is like totally nuts and just idiots to be getting something like this. There were just too many grossing things in this movies, stuff that can actually make you puke. YUCK!!!

I should say that's the big problem with romantic movies. Some people just say they're funny, but then just go too far with too much bad stuff, and it just starts getting annoying. And we mentioned this before. The problem with this movie is that you can't parody any other romantic date movies, and that's exactly what it did. But, of course, Carmen's received her Worst Supporting Actress Razzie nomination for this film, along with Scary Movie 4, in which she played a blind lady in a scene where they were paroding The Village.

I remember that part in Scary Movie 4 where they were paroding The Village, which was considered the last film M. Night Shyamalan did with the Disney Co. before they ended his contract when he tried to have them to distribute Lady in the Water, but turned it down, and did the right thing in doing that.

I found out that they are planning on doing a 5th Scary Movie, and it may have a scene where they would be paroding Lady in the Water. But, I mean, a 5th? I just keep on asking, Can't they ever get enough? But the answer is, Hollywood can't get enough of any of these sequels.

Well, Head RAZZ, you think you might add SCARY MOVIE 4 on this forum? Since it won the Worst Supporting Actress RAZZIE along with this movie.

No matter what anyone says, Carmen Electra deserves this RAZZIE for this film, as well as Scary Movie 4. She's one of those really hot actresses, but she just chooses to do a whole bunch of dumb films.

Think about it. After being knocked out from the Worst Supporting Actress Razzie for the last two years, losing in 2004 to Britney Spears for Fahrenheit 9/11, and then in 2005 to Paris Hilton for House of Wax, she beats out the other four nominees for this award. No matter though, both Britney and Paris deserved those Razzies back in the past.

Hey, besides Epic Movie, there's another film with Carmen Electra that comes out later called I Want Candy. Not to mention she has another film in pre-production right now.

I do have one question though, Why didn't Carmen get nominated also for Cheaper By the Dozen 2 as well? She should have been nominated for Worst Supporting Actress for Cheaper By the Dozen and Dirty Love. She ended up being nominated for just Dirty Love. Also forgot, she's also in this film called Full of It, which comes out the same day as Wild Hogs. But I don't think she'll be nominated for that film anyway.

I've looked at the Movie Connections for DATE MOVIE as well as the movie connections for SCARY MOVIE 4, and saw that DATE MOVIE was spoofing off more than just all those other Date Films, but also a bunch of other films like Star Wars: Episode III: Sith Happens, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, Kill Bill: Vo. 1, King Kong, etc. while SCARY MOVIE 4 was spoofing off The Grudge, The Village, Saw, Saw II, War of the Worlds, etc. But now I've heard they're making a 5th Scary Movie. I was all like, "Oh man, can't they ever get enough?" I guess Hollywood just can't get enough of lousy sequels, as well as lousy remakes.

Check this stuff out. Pretty wierd, but true. The deaf couple in the elevator are played by http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0622085/ - Anthony Natale and http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0274475/ - Andrea Ferrell , reprising/spoofing their scene in http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0116695/ - Jerry Maguire (1996). How about that?

Really, well, did you actually forget that this movie was voted as IMDb's Worst Film of 2006? Because I think you really forgot about that part.

I'm really getting tired of people going with the majority. I, happen to always be in the minority, hating films people love and liking films people hate. This was not a bad film. I even find the Mr. and Mrs. Smith film spoof was much funnier in this movie (don't deny that, haters!). The commentary for the people who didn't like the film said they like that parody in Date Movie rather than Mr. and Mrs. Smith. And this is people's opinions. Sorry, I just liked Little Man and you can trash talk on me but I really do like that movie and this one. As I said, ENTIRELY my opinion. I hope people don't argue...

And I think we're getting tired of you thinking that every bad movie was good, moviewizguy. I think you need to accept the fact that we have comments on these movies listed being bad in our points of view. From what I can see, you're not really sounding like you're a friend to the RAZZIEs.

By the way, I don't know if anyone frequents this thread anymore, but here's an issue of a webcomic that I frequently read...

(this image belongs to Joe of "Joe Loves Crappy Movies", and to Digital Pimp Online - not me.)

(And as a sidenote, Joe gave Date Movie a 1.5 out of 10. Considering he was the only person that gave Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo a 9 out of 10, I'd say that's a BAD sign.)

Ok, I really do not mean I hate movie people like and love what they hate, it was an expression....kinda, like you know...ANYWAY, there are some movies people just over exaggerate what they really are. Well, maybe one reason I don't like some good movies is because I set a high expectation for them, like Reservoir Dogs, which I thought was decent but no where being close to a great film. And reasons why I recommend almost every movie I watch is that I have no expectations for movies I watch, except some I know will be good like Harry Potter. I put the expectations low on Date Movie, Little Man, etc... because people hated it so much so I decided to go with their opinions to watch the movie and you know what? They are so exaggerating almost everythnig about it that it's not even funny!

I think it all came down to not enough voting members saw this movie. I think "Bloodrayne" should have swept this year, but didn't, again because not enough voters saw it.
