SILENCE...BUT DEADLY??

THIS LATEST ATTEMPT to SCARE the CRAP OUT of MOVIE-GOERS by RECYCLING OLD MOVIE PLOTS and GIVING 'EM a 21st CENTURY (READ ULTRA-GORY) SPIN HAS MANAGED INSTEAD to STRIKE MANY CRITICS' and MOVIE FANS' FUNNY BONES. THINK FREDDY KRUGER PLAYED by CHARLIE McCARTHY, AND YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY...

"I haven't seen this many dummies all in one room since Bush's last Cabinet meeting..."

I wonder if the puppet in Dead Silence wasn't supposed to sound Evil? It was funny to hear talk... on this ad I found

I had found ad for Dead Silnce where it says here Billy Talk which by the way is The Puppet name does he sound evil yet any ways you can make him talk by typing in a Question, and he will repeat it what funny about this ad is when speaks he sounds like he inviting you to have with Tea & Crumpits in The Polor Room I thought to myself at least Chucky had Evil Laugh when Killed you maybe the only thing from this puppet is boring to death with old stories or some thing.

*Sorry, but I have NO IDEA what you are trying to say?

I don't think this should be nominated for a Razzie. The worst I've heard about this movie was that it was stupid, except for the ending. Many people said it was scary, but that it wasn't that bad...

If Dead Silence does get a Razzie nod I guess it'll be the second time we'll be Razzing a Dummy. The first was in 2004, when the Worst Actor Razzie went to George W. Bush.

Wow! Two dummies in a span of four years...what are the odds??

If we do think this is a real Razzie possibility, it could get a nod as Worst Rip Off, due to the puppets looking a lot like those in a Goosebumps book...

I agree about the Goosebumps book, called Night Of The Living Dummies. There are actually 3 of them, and here's the cover from the first one.

So it could be Worst Rip Off of Magic, Puppetmaster, Child's Play and the Goosebumps books...

I think Anthony Hopkins, Ann-Margret (my love), the late Burgess Merideth, and anyone else for that matter would be furious to find out that they took a good movie like "Magic" and turned it into a great, big pile of dog s**t!!!!!!!!!!

Worst Remake Or Rip-Off PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used to love "Goosebumps" when I was a kid.

I liked this, and thought it was better than "Magic" (which somehow has a high score at RT).

Ok. Seen it and didn't like it. Boring movie and the only good part is the surprise ending. If you would like to see yourself torture through the whole movie for the ending, be my guest.

My review:

THIS MOVIE'S QUALITY WILL "SILENCE" YOU UNTIL YOU'RE "DEAD"(**/*****)

Spoilers ahead!

It's hard not to compare it to the SAW movies, also created by James Wan and Leigh Wannell. Those movies are more gory than scary, but their scripts are very smart(mostly the first 3, which Wannell wrote). This movie it's the other way around. The directing is very good when it comes to angles, shots and creating suspense. Unfortunately, the script is bad.

Aside from the fact evil puppets isn't new,the story how MARY SHAW died is too similar to how FREDDY KRUGER died.

After most of the mystery is revealed, the movie drags on for about 30 minutes only for us to discover the rest of the mystery, which is boring. Whannell's twist ending(which seems to be a trade mark)was creative, but not shocking because at that point it's hard to still be interested in the movie.

Talk about a movie so under the radar that no one cared about it!

The only good thing in this movie is the twist ending. The twist, I'll admit, is really good, but other than that, it's a boring movie.

A good movie, a twist ending does not make.

Well, if it's a BAD movie, then the directing was that good then. Perhaps you mean good cinematography in a bad movie.

Yeah, that's cinematography. If everything looks good on screen, that's the director of photography's doing. If everything else about the movie is bad, that's the director/writer/producer's fault.

With "Visuals" I also mean the shots and angles, and everything we're able to see, except performances, like art direction,costume,make-up and special effects.Separately, the people in charge of those departments are to blame, but combined,is the man in the chair's fault.

That's what I mean, the shots and angles are the director of photography's choices, and the director-director simply okays the choices made. So the DP is the one to thank for the good visuals.

Ignore my comment on the last page about the film.

I will say that of all the films this month, this one scared me the most. However, that has literally nothing to do with James Wan and everything to do with ventriquist dummies being creepy as Hell.

When the dummies aren't on-screen the film is incredibly boring. And even when they're on-screen, the film is unintentionally funny at times. Specifically, the end where a bunch of dummies attack the main character and the cop. Ryan Kwanten as bland as Jamie, the main character. He's not as good as he was in VENOM: #TRUTHINJOURNALISM. Now that was an awesome short film. The director of it, Joe Lynch, was in the same room as me when I watched it. He's an awesome guy, I got an autograph from him. What's that? A review of Dead Silence? Oh yeah.

Donnie Wahlberg gives a weird performance as the cop. The character is a total douche, but Wahlberg doesn't seem to realize that. The script for this film is incredibly dumb. It's not scary in the least and the only reason I was creeped out at all was because I'm afraid of ventriloquist dummies. If it was about something that I found less scary, I'd be angrier with the film. And let's not get into that stupid, stupid, stupid twist! Seriosuly, a human doll! Now, you know what had an awesome twist: VENOM: #TRUTHINJOURNALISM.

VENOM: #TRUTHINJOURNALISM is available to watch on YouTube, so get busy. Grade: C

Next-up: Godzilla: Final Wars!

Ryan Kwanten is also good in TRUE BLOOD. No, I don't mean "good" as in "looks good shirtless". I mean his acting.

How so?

After watching the movie, I started to wonder if a human doll like that is actually possible. Does that make me stupid?

Vits:

1.) I've already mentioned several times that I hate True Blood.

2.) The character is sleazy, but Wahlberg seems to be playing him as a regular cop.

3.) Not unless you thought it was possible. Wouldn't Jaime smell the rotting flesh?
