If Barbie remade Spice World, it still wouldn't be as bad as this.  Bratz, unlike Barbie dolls, are basically promoting the image of wh***s (or Wh**z) with their skimpy clothes (what little there are) and heavy makeup.  Also, I heard that some of these Bratz Babyz dolls (little versions of the regular dolls) were wearing thongs!

I don't think this movie is any different from the dolls.  I can see really short miniskirts in my mind, but no undergarments.  Oh, and plenty of skimpy clothing.  A movie that hopes to turn all of our young daughters into Paris Hiltons.

Ahhhhh...FINALLY! A discussion thread for this potential piece of crap.

I am particularly anti-Bratz, and the news that this junker was coming to theaters nearly made me puke, and seeing the trailer while out at the movies on Friday night made me go "Oh, no...no, no, NO!"

Sadly, this movie seems to also be keeping alive the stereotype that all preteen/teen girls are fashion-obsessed airheads. Why can't the people who come up with this crap think of something more original? How about less of these - as the Pink song refers to them - "stupid girls" and more tomboys or brainy girls?

*sigh* I really hope this movie does REALLY bad, just so that these Hoochie Mamaz can finally go AWAY. But, sadly, there are many misguided little girls out there...

I guess on our Nominating Ballot this year, when comes to Bratz we can ad Bratz: The Movie as Worst Remake or Rip Off of "Clueless
and "Mean Girls"??

Response from Head RAZZberry: Our Worst Remake or Rip-Off category is gonna be Berry Crowded this year -- Not sure yet (with the year barely more than half over) exactly what may make it onto our Nominating Ballot, but at this point, BRATZ looks likely to get mentioned in at least a couple of categories...

Isn't Jon Voight in this movie? If so, he could possibly get another "WORST SUPPORTING ACTOR" nomination. Why is he in these terrible kiddie movies now? He was also in the very terrible "BABY GENIUSES 2".

Response from Head RAZZberry: Not to worry, we already have Voight on our "short list" for Worst Supporting Actor -- He's listed for this, TRANSFORMERS and (possibly) NATIONAL TREAURE 2 (due out this fall)...

My wife wants to take our 5 year old daughter to see this shameful piece of trash, I told her months ago that there was no way that me and my 9 year old son was going to see it, the previews has already left me and my son with partial brain damage, I hate to see what a full 90 minutes would do.

Oh! and here is another shocker, the movie has so far earned a whooping 0% percent at http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bratz_the_movie/ - RT . BFF's forever!!! (Bad F$%& Filmmakers forever!)

RAZZ, I think this should be bumped up to a #1 status, This is this year's ZOOM by far.

UPDATE: Well, this movie has gone from 0% to 11% at http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/bratz_the_movie/ - RT  . So much for "The truth will set you free". I was so hoping it would retain its 0% status, it really does deserve it for this year.

To tell you the truth, BRATZ looks even worse than UNDERDOG, for so many reasons. But they both look suck-tastic...

I'm with you guys on this one. Although I thought Jon Voight did a fantastic job in Transformers (I will take this to the grave, I loved that movie, and f**k you all who hated it - hell, even some of Michael Bay's haters loved it), he must have lost a bet to appear in this film. I mean, this is the same kind of estrogen-loaded, cutesy-pootsy chick flick that Hillary Duff would've appeared in. I couldn't even stand to sit through the trailer even - who in their right mind would listen to the headache-inducing lyrics of Pink's "U and Ur Hand" and/or Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend"? WHO? When Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance both have astoundingly better songs that get alot of airplay. I was about to kill myself after listening to those songs!

This and UNDERDOG do look equally lame, but I selected this as #2 Worst New Movie of the Weak mainly because UNDERDOG clearly cost a lot more money ( http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=2041&PN=1 - LINK ). If I had to guess, I'd estimate the cost of BRATZ as being in the $10-25 million range, while UNDERDOG (with its massive TV campaign) represents an investment in the neighborhood of about $75-125 million.

And, alarming as the idea may be to most of us on this Forum, at least BRATZ has a likely audience: pre-adolescent girls. I challenge anyone to tell me Who on Earth would actually pay money to see a live-action/lame-SFX-laden remake of a medicore, 45-year-old cartoon like UNDERDOG...

Maybe those of you who think BRATZ should have been #1 should take solace in the other implication of BRATZ being labeled #2...

While I agree with you about the cost of each of the movies (Both are in the league of what I already estimated) and BRATZ clearly was to be aimed at our unsuspecting female teenage audience UNDERDOG will be hitting the Super Hero fan base for young kids with it's super SFX and non existent story line. However, the sad truth to your question of who would pay to see UNDERDOG is the same people who will also pay to see BRATZ, and that is the PARENTS! Especially with the Disney logo out on the front of it, Parents are going to probably see that over the trainer bra film BRATZ.

Yup. I better hide under my bed now, because it sounds like a 'CADDYSHACK: THE MUSICAL' that's aimed at kids. Maybe we should go give those kids the book 'Faherheit 451' if they're eight or older...

HeadRAZZBerry: Can you give a TV movie a Razzie nomination?

Response from Head RAZZberry: Sorry to say, but our rules (which are based on those of The Academy Awards) clearly state that, regardless of how egregious a movie may be, unless it receives a theatrical release (i.e. plays a regular admission engagement in one or more theatres to which the general public is admitted) it cannot be considered eligible for our awards...

This might be the scariest film ever! Jon Voight's putty nose looks like it might be a result of his character's heavy cocoaine use. What's the reason for him starring in this?

Bratz only misses my vote as Worst Picture of 2007 because of "I Know Who Killed Me."

I will say this: if you play "Mystery Science Theater 3000" while watching Bratz, it makes the film slighty more tolerable.

Now that I'm feeling more refrshed I can get back to reviewing crappy kids films!

The good:

Let's just ignore this part of the review.

The bad:

Lainie Kazan: Has she ever been in a good movie? As a rule for Kazan performances, the worse the movie, the worse the performance. This is easily her worst movie (and performance) that doesn't involve her kissing J.Lo!

The script: The script for hits is aboslutely pathetic! According to imdb, the three writers are from Disney tween shows, Jimmy Kemmel TV shows, and reality shows. It shows.

Sean McNamara: He directed this and 3 Ninjas: High Noon At Mega Mountain. Punishment must be dealt!

The ugly:

The "bratz" themselves: They're obnoxious little sh*ts who are dimmer than a dim black-light! There obsession* with fashion is at a level near to that of Carrie Bradshaw's!

Jon Voight: OK, seriously, what the f*ck happened to Jon Voight? I find it funny that he called his daughter crazy for adopting kids, when his career choices are a better example of insanity!

The moral: The moral is that any problems can be solved with "passion for fashion". Seriously. Everything good done by the characters can be traced back to good fashion choices.

Watching this makes one pine for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. At least that had one good scene! (The part were Bumblebee throws the Jim Crowe-bots across the room.) Grade: F

Next-up: Daddy Day Camp!

*or as they call it "passion"

"My Big Fat Greek Wedding" is a genuinely good movie. Why are you surprised you "survived" it?

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259446/ - ® Contender, was also not worthy of any special praise...

Oh,yeah! GREEK WEDDING is overrated as hell. I gave it 7/10 (like many people did) while a lot of people in my family say it's one of the best they've ever seen (even my grandma, who doesn't really like comedies). I'm guessing it's the whole "people from different nationalities/races/religions getting married, while their families clash" element -- that's something most people can relate to.

By the way,has anyone ever seen the TV series/spinoff MY BIG FAT GREEK LIFE? I rented the DVD with all the episodes(not shocking since it only lasted 7 episodes).

While I thought Kazan was okay in GREEK WEDDING, the one film she actually shone in was http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084370/ -

Wait.SchumacherH8ter:Were you asking if she's ever been in a good movie,or if she's ever given a good performance?

To me, BIG FAT GREEK was fitfully amusing but, while certainly not a RAZZIE® Contender, was also not worthy of any special praise...

Maybe if Michael Bay saw this BRATZ film, he would have not made any Transformers Films.

And maybe if Peter Berg saw this film, he wouldn't have directed Battleship.

LOL LOL

I know it's way too late, but it sounded like a good theory!
