My 9-year-old son and I both had fun at this one — Even if 75% of critics did not. My son argued that it wuz only 'sposed to be Mindless Fun, and I'd argue it got BOTH the "Fun" and the "Mindless" parts down cold.

Whadda U Think?!?!?

I just heard from someone who lives in Las Vegas, who sez this is ALREADY on bootleg DVD -- And good quality, too!

NO WONDER Hollywood's Box Office is down around its ankles!!

I actually liked it... It's very Xmen 1 - Formula but i liked it... I was afraid about The Thing, but it's very well made... The interpretations were not astonishingly good but neither astonishingly bad....

I would like to see a second one to see if it's better... (Just like Xmen 1 and 2...)

Yeah...it's great! If you've recently had a lobotomy or are still 12 years old.

Poor direction, poor screenplay, continuity errors, and this year's Denise Richards/ Nuclear Physicist (and Razzie Nominee!) Jessica Alba.

But, hey, Fox made their money. And that's all they really cared about based on how this production turned out.

I actually found this movie to be not that bad. I think it wasn't as good as movies like spider-man and batman, but it was still good. Not to mention the flame dude was really really sexi!!!

TRIVIA: In the very last scene of the film, the now inanimate Dr. Doom is being shipped on a cargo vessel with the word "Latveria" on the aft. In the Marvel Universe, Latveria is the country that is consistently under Dr. Doom's control.

I looked on the IMDb page for Fantastic Four (this one, not the second one) and I saw that Hollywood's planning a movie that will spoof this movie and Batman Begins. But there was no indication of when they'll ever get that film started...

I had fun with this first one as well, but not the second one at all.

Is there the 3rd as well?????
anyways, like any "saga", the first is always the best!

I think the second is better. Unfortunately, there won't be a third. Instead, there will be a reboot.

Well, the first one was mediocre, but it was entertaining too. The sequel, just...no.

I give this 9/10.It was a little predictable and there were cliches here and there. But overall is what I look for in superhero movies.

Again, if you were a comic book fan of the series, you would understand why everyone hated this movie.

I don't think someone has solved the long-lasting debate of adaptations being good despite being different from the source...like SPIDER-MAN.

I don't know x-men and X2 stray pretty far from the source material but were really good movies, especially X2, i guess the key is to try and find a balance, and on that note, i didn't like this movie either

Well, HeadRazz already ripped Kubrick's version apart for not being loyal to the book.

1)It wasn't ripped. It was nominated for 2 Razzies.I didn't see it,but I think maybe it should've been nominated for "Screenplay" instead of "Director",seeing as it's considered a bad adaptation, but good movie in general.
2)Most people disliked the movie when it was released. The same for PINOCCHIO.A while later, they became classics.

No, after someone new comer here was complaining about why it happen, HeadRazz stated his reasons why, as did saturnwatcher. The movie wasn't as loyal as it could have been and Kubrick should have waited until film technology caught up with the movie so he could have done it properly. That's their words, not mine.

I remembered being underwhelmed by this film (I'm talking about Fantastic 4 btw, not The Shining). The final fight scene wasn't really fantastic. I'm surprised HeadRazz actually enjoyed it.

Also, I remembered rolling my eyes over the blatant scientific inaccuracies (I know I know it's a superhero film, but reversing your mutation and then mutating back into The Thing? Come on!).

My points exactly, not to mention the second movie where the big world destorying villain was not even shown on screen and was easily defeated in two seconds, making not seem like any kind of real threat like they were making him out to be.
