I don't know if I can limit it to just five, but here's what I'd consider keeping:
Alvin and the Chipmunks 2, Dragonball Evolution, The Final Destination, Friday the 13th, Transylmania (obviously) Old Dogs and Pink Panther 2 (did it really come out this year?).
The others, I don't really think are "bad."
RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Why am I not surprised that you consider most of the choices "not bad"??
And, BTW, http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=pinkpanther2.htm - PINK PANTHER 2 was one of 2009's early/obvious RAZZIE® contenders -- It was released last February...

Well, I can't get the list down to only five, but the top contenders on my list (which also happen to be my top contenders for Worst Picture, too) are:
"Transformers 2," "GI Joe," "Dragonball Evolution," "Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li," "Friday The 13th: Part Remake" and "Fame."

I'll toss in my top 7:
Stink Panther 2: WHY STEVE, WHY?????
AAAAALVIN!!!!!!!!!
Land of the Lost: The TV series was lame...did ANYONE out there ask for a movie? NO!
Transylmania: As I noted in another forum, no matter how good this movie might have been, there is NO audience for it. It deserves a Razzing just for the stupidity of making it.
G.I. Joe: A full length film, and he didn't even bang Barbie...Razz it!
Old Dogs: let's teach it a new trick...accepting a Razzie!
Fame!: We'll remake this same film fooorever! Watch it go down in a flame! (feel free to use that one in the opening number )

Transylmania is currently at 0.0 on Rotten Tomatoes.
0 for 15 so far.
And the reviews are pretty funny.

Welcome to the board, ThatGuy. The guess here is that the reviews for Transylmania will all be considerably funnier than the movie. With only 15 reviews in, it is hard to say whether or not it will fall in our range, but I'm thinking it is definitely worthy or our consideration.

Here's my personal top 5 sh*t films. I didn't see them, but I know they should get mentioned:
The Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience sh*tty music keeps getting pushed down in our throats on a daily basis. Here are the three examples. How the hell are guys with pubic hair-like hairstyles and very effeminate voices considered hot? I guess I'm not a 12-year-old girl.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon What happens when the vampire lore becomes reduced to nothing but porn for 12-year-old girls who can't spell for sh*t, and furthers the stereotype that middle- to lower-class people are not HAWT? The only good thing about it? That hypnotic single from Death Cab for Cutie. That doesn't belong on the soundtrack.
Hannah Montana: The Movie Like the Jonas Brothers, another example how the music industry has gone to the dogs. Let's not forget the star got her knickers in a twist because Radiohead wouldn't talk to her, and she threatened to end them. Let's not forget that when she encountered the Queen of England, her disgusting boobs were almost exposed. Makes you wonder where common sense went.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel You don't have to be Einstein to predict this film to be a bomb. The jokes are juvenile and obvious, Zachary Levi from Chuck got hypnotized into this mess and, worst of all, three amazingly talented comic actresses (Anna Faris, Amy Poehler, and Christina Applegate) seem to be erasing any good will I had towards them.
Fame What happens when you take the original dance film and pander it to the High School Musical crowd. You get this.
------------- You think you know, but you have no idea.

Do you think we can split the category into two like you did a couple of years ago?
Worst Remake/Ripoff
Dance Flick G. I. Blow Fame Land of the Lost Miss March
Worst Sequel/Prequel
Chipmunks Squeakuel New Moon Pink Panther 2 Transylmania (aka Dorm Daze 3) Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li
Now, Miss March is not among those on the list, but I believe that it can be considered a ripoff of the J. Geils Band song Centerfold.
Wikipedia Descriptions:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miss_march http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Centerfold_%28song%29
Miss March: Eugene Bell ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zach_Cregger" title="Zach Cregger - Zach Cregger ) wakes from a four year http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coma" title="Coma - coma to find that his high school sweetheart has gone on to become a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Playboy" title="Playboy - Playboy Playmate.
Centerfold: The song is about a man who is shocked to discover that his high school crush appeared in a centerfold spread for a male-oriented magazine.
Sound similar? I think so.

We need five. One action film, one drama, one comedy, one romance, and one horror flick (or any combination of those genres).

This category could be easily split into Prequel/Sequel
and Remake/Rip-off
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was one of the worst
films I've ever seen. I've also heard from a reliable
source that Dragonball Evolution and Street
Fighter were terrible... of course, I didn't need
someone to tell me that, but I may break my "see the
movie first" policy in regards to that...
Then there's Alvin and the Chipmunks: The
Squeakquel (or however that last word's spelled) that
will definitely make my list without me seeing it.
My ballot for this list will probably look like this:
1. G.I. Joe
2. Alvin and the Chipmunks 2: The Squeakquel
3. Saw VI
4. The Twilight Saga: New Moon
5. Hannah Montana: The Movie

Yeah, no disrespect to the Forum itself or its contents, but there are times when I could eat dinner, shower, shave, brush my teeth and be in bed in the time it takes to look up certain threads and/or post replies to them.
As for us "needing" one comedy, one action, one drama, etc. we don't "need" anything other than just five choices. All these movies suck regardless of what their genres are. But by the looks of it, the final five are all going to be action movies .... and "New Moon."
RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: I, too, am often frustrated with how slowly certain functions of our Forum work. We are unsure what the problem is (we've been reassured it's not the volume of material itself) and are working to see what can be done to speed things up a notch...

Just out of curiosity, how many nods are gonna be under each category on the nominating ballot? While you give me the answer I'll throw my Top 10 Signs You're Dealing with a Bad Film Adaptation:
10. The title ends in "Movie". 9. You look at the screenplay and say, "Seriously!?" 8. It's based on something http://www.cracked.com/photoshop_6_30-things-that-should-never-be-adapted-to-film/ - absurd . 7. A familiar name or face in the trailer makes the audience shudder. 6. There is no preset plot in whatever it's based on. 5. On opening night, it's met with jeers. 4. It's a victim of its own publicity campaign. 3. No one knows it's coming out, therefore it doesn't make much money. 2. It garners an RT rating of less than...I don't know...25%? 1. It's part of an annoying franchise that turns moviegoers into morons.

Geez, Louise Miguel...just list your choices.
Meanwhile, I don't think Stink Panther 2 is getting nearly enough disrespect here. I know it came out last February and the pain has largely worn off by now, but I suggest (with all due respect to the misery it will create) another viewing by the voters. It may not win, but it should be a cinch on the nominating ballot and probably deserves a spot in the final 5 as well.

Obsessed is such a horrible rip-off of previous movies (Fatal Attraction and The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) that it should be on this list.
Since the first ballot contains 12 movies, here's the 12 I'd recommend:
Alvin & the Upchucks 2 Dragonball Evolution Fame 2009 The Final Destination Friday The 13th 2009 Land Of The Lost Obsessed Pink Panther 2 Saw VI Street Fighter 2 Transformers 2 Transylmania

Having said that, I join with the others to split the categories again. There are three reasons for this.
One, we have at least 12 contenders that are prequels/sequels and at least 19 contenders that are remakes/ripoffs, so you have enough to do it. Let me demonstrate:
Prequels/Sequels: Alvin & The Upchucks Angels & Demons Fast & Furious The Final Destination Halloween 2 Land of the Lost Pink Panther 2 Saw VI Street Figher: The Legend of Chun-Li Transformers 2 Twilight: The New Moon Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
Remakes/Ripoffs A Christmas Carol Dance Flick (aka the Wayans Brothers Give Selzterberg a Year Off) Dragonball Evolution Fame 2009 Friday the 13th 2009 Ghosts of Girlfriends Past GI: Joe Hannah Montana: The Movie A Haunting In Connecticut Knowing Last House On The Left Law Abiding Citizen Obsessed Old Dogs Sorority Row Spread The Stepfather Transylmania Whiteout
Two, you give more movies a chance to get the drumming they deserve.
Three, we have waaayyyy too many prequels/sequels/remakes/rip-offs coming up in 2010. I haven't counted, but there may possibly be enough to split the category into three categories if [HA HA I said "IF"] those movies are bad enough. So, by splitting the category early for 2009, you'll serve notice that for 2010, the Razzie members are paying attention and have their shredders on the ready. We'll be telling the movie industry: "You wanna do prequels/sequels/remakes/rip-offs some more? Hey, we'll be more than happy to oblige. . . ."

OH, I've GOT to put Pink Panther 2 above everything else, with Land of the Lost a VERY distant second.

Given only 5 titles, I'm hoping these nominees will be...
Fast & Furious The Final Destination Friday the 13th [remake] The Pink Panther 2 Saw VI
PS. I must admit... I also thought it was better as Remake or Ripoff and Prequel or Sequel. I can't get my facts straight on why they were reunited for 2008.
RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: We combined them in 2008 to streamline our ceremony, which at an hour fifteen for 2007 was in danger of becoming overlong (kinda like All Those Other Award Shows we exist to make fun of). For 2009, we kept them combined because we have 3 special dis-honors for Worst Actor, Worst Actress and Worst Picture of the Decade and, again, wanted to keep our total show time under 90 minutes...
------------- RAZZIE Dirty Dozen: Battlefield Earth, F G Fingered, Pluto Nash, A Sound of Thunder, Alone in the Dark, Dirty Love, Rise Silver Srfr, Daddy Day Camp, IKWKM, The Love Guru, All About Steve, Airbender

Yeah, that movie was s***, but "Land Of The Lost" was a bigger failure at the box office, as well as being ripped apart by critics. Plus, I recall that HeadRazz was the deciding vote. It was a tie between "LOTL" and "Trannies 2".
