I'd have to say that Furry Vengeance and A Nightmare on Elm Street [remake] are worse than The Wolfman and Clash of the Titans [remakes].

And the worst of all? That's easy. Vampires Suck!

The 12 choices listed are a reasonable cross-section of the many kinds of "product" that have constituted the worst output of a truly awful year for movies -- with the notable omission of anything from the Razzie evergreen "genre" of "Torture Porn"...but then, SAW 3-D hasn't come out yet!!

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Unless it does berry well at the box office (which God knows it might!) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1477076/ - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4llZssPvXs8&feature=fvst - to see the HD trailer for it on YouTube -- We were happy to note that, as of this posting (about NOON/PST on August 22) it had less than 27,000 "hits"...

If I had to pick 5 for the ballot, they would be:

Clash of the Titans
Jonah Hex
Repo Men
Vampires Suck
The Wolfman

Vampires Suck, of course, takes the prize.

I know this isn't the final choices for Worst Picture, but I'm pretty sure it will be down to "Last Fart Bender" and "Vampires Suck". The former was just badly made and the latter just shouldn't have been made at all.

PS: It sucks being Ken Jeong, being in both "Furry Vengeance" and "Vampires Suck", not to mention last year's "All About Steve". The dude needs a new agent.

Twilight is a nuisance and a symbol of cultural decay...and Fartbender shows how l-o--o-o-o-w M. Night can go.  Hex has Megan Fox. And Furry is actually getting panned worse on IMDB (a resident in the Bottom 100) than anything else released this year.

Still, I chose Vampires Suck.  Seltzer-Berg is a disease, making our society stupid...er. They are an insult to all mankind, and they are setting Americans back decades.  If there is a Second Great Depression, maybe it's their fault -- their "movies" made people stupid enough to let it happen again!

The fact Vampires Suck opened as the second-highest-grossing movie of the week is reason enough to hate it! It's like the perfect coupling of stuff that's ruining American society: Selterberg movies...and "Twilight!"

Please explain to me why Grown Ups is not mention in this, not only did it have a worse cast then the Expendables (DAVID SPADE AND ROB SCHNEIDER FOR CHRISTS SAKE!), but was horribly unfunny and was just an embarrassment to comedy, which if you consider the state of comedy right now in Hollywood is an achievement in itself.

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: While reviews on GROWN-UPS were among the worst of the year ( http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/grown_ups/ - ) it was hardly a box office bomb, grossing about twice what it cost to make and getting a respectable B-minus from MoJo users ( http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=grownups.htm - ). Plus, the RAZZIE® Forum on it ( http://www.razzies.com/forum/grown-ups_forum443.html - ) never generated the degree of disrespect one usually looks for in a Prime RAZZIE® Contender.

Also, keep in mind, just because it wasn't included in this poll doesn't mean it won't be included somewhere on this year's http://razzies.com/join.asp - http://razzies.com/join.asp - http://razzies.com/join.asp -

I think the Razzies keep delaying nominations for those 5 guys's movies because they've already won in the past, they'll continue to have chances to be nominated, and it would be fair to give others a chance.

I know you're all against the franchise, and the lattest were'nt very good because they felt like the 3rd season of LOST:It seemed it would never end so they dragged on filling a lot.But this will be last one.I really hope they tie loose ends, like what happened to Cary Elwes's character.

Yeah. It's not like he was just some doctor who one day got discovered by Judd Apatow and rose to fame with THE HANGOVER,which wasn't the best comedy of 2009,and COMMUNITY,which wasn't the best new sitcom.Actually,it wasn't,but it was close.

Yeah, I noticed Grown-Ups was missing, too. What's up with that, considering most (if not all) of the cast are only in the movie because of being buddy-buddy with Sandler?

Here are my thoughts on the movies listed:

Clash of the Titans, The Expendables and The Wolfman: All but out of contention
The Bounty Hunter, Killers, Sex and the City 2 and When in Rome: Vying for Worst Excuse for a Romantic Comedy
Jonah Hex and Repo Men: Ugly and disturbing
The Last Airbender: Lifeless
Twilight: Eclipse: A victim of its own publicity campaign
Vampires Suck: Intensely stupid

Overall, my vote goes to Vampires Suck.

Yahoo.com released their list of the 10 worst of the year so far, which included both Marmaduke and Grown Ups, two movies that astonishingly escaped mention in the above poll. Sex in the City 2 and the Last Fartbender were included...I believe it was #3 and Grown Ups showed up at #4.

Well, I say that "Clash" should still be in contention because they took a mediocre movie, and made it sh*t! As far as "Expendables" and "Wolfman" go, Wolfman doesn't seem to be generating a whole lot of buzz from us. I'm sure its pretty bad, but it seems to have been forgotten here, so I think it's not a contender and should be off the list. "The Expendables" is geting alot of posts, but there seems to be a consensus, even among some of the bigger anti-Stallone types, that it isn't worth our time -- except for HeadRAZZ, but then again he has a hard on for da sly guy that would put the washington monument to shame :)

The only thing I expect "The Expendables" will get nominated for is Worst Supporting Actor (Dolph Lundgren) but me personally i would leave it off the ballot to make room for more deserving targets.

BTW: I voted for "Vampires Suck," because "Grown Ups" wasn't on the poll (do the right thing and add it to the list, HeadRAZZ!) -- Believe me, come Razzie voting time, I'm going to be whopping that ass all over my ballot!

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Several Forum regulars have questioned why GROWN UPS wasn't included in the poll -- Bottom line, while it did get lousy reviews, it wasn't a box office bomb, grossing more than twice what it cost ( http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=grownups.htm - ). It  will likely be included on our Nominating Ballot for Worst Screen Couple/Worst Ensemble Cast, but wasn't  hated by most movie-goers enough to earn inclusion in this poll as a Worst Picture contender. As alwaze, those who feel strongly about it are welcome to write it in all over their ballots...

Oh, I would never forget how Benicio Del Toro, Emma Blunt, Hugo Weaving and Anthony Hopkins squandered their talents in the always bad and sometimes hilariously bad The Wolfman.  For me, that remains the worst disappointment of the year.  However, it's hard to compete with crud like The Last Airbender and Vampire Sucks

I haven't seen "When in Rome", "Last Airbender" or "Jonah Hex" yet, but will...and I can guess now that they will be better than that piece of sh*t...and even though I will never watch "Twatlight: Itsh*ts" or "3 Hookers and their Mum 2," I know even they are better than "Vampires Suck!"

I saw "Knight & Day" in theaters. It wasn't trying to be anything it wasn't. If you went in expecting a silly spy movie with Tom Cruise acting all crazy and Cameron Diaz running around in a bikini, you got what you paid for. "Grown-Ups" was being sold to us as a reunion of the 1994/95 season of SNL ... only not funny at all.

This is why there might be a "Worst Ensemble Cast" category this year, even though everyone in "Last Fartbender" sucked! Giving each of them solo awards would take up all the acting category nominations.

Just out of curiosity, rburton, what's your favorite movie of Richard Burton's?

I'm confused. All the true hate for AIRBENDER seems to go to Dev Patel. Most comments about Noah Ringer, Nicola Peltz and Jackson Rathbone are because critics hated the movie as a whole. But even if those 4 gave awful performances, they're not the only main actors, right? It wouldn't be fair to award the others if they don't deserve it.

Once someone asked a long time ago if I would deny the mighty Zeus his aegis.  That should be a catchphrase.

Perhaps Dev Patel held M. Night Shyamalan in high regard.  That's not a stretch.  Shyamalan went from Mahé, Puducherry, India all the way not only to become a top director in Hollywood, but also one who made one of the most highly regarded films of all time, The Sixth Sense.  The question is, did Patel also know that, for awhile now, Shyamalan has rested on his laurels, or to be more accurate, used his past success to greenlight poorer and poorer scripts?  If he didn't, or even if he did, it's understandable why he would collaborate with Shyamalan.   And wasn't The Last Airbender a popular cartoon before it became a laughably bad movie?  The great director from India coupled with a live action version of a popular cartoon series - it seems understandable why Patel would take the role.

But that doesn't detract from this being a bad next step in Patel's career, nor should it excuse a bad performance or a well-deserved Razzie nomination in the future.  I'm just saying it's understandable.

Besides, Patel is London born and raised, his parents are Gujuratis from Kenya, and, if that's not removed far enough, the state of Gujurat is on the complete other side of India from Puducherry, complete with its own local language.  If Patel felt great about Shyamalan, it would be like us cheering on the Olympians from our country.  It's national pride, but we don't know them and they're probably not from our neighborhood.

And that doesn't excuse one from recognizing that Zeus' aegis is way too short.

Better question, do moviewizguy and Vits understand that "for awhile now, Shyamalan has rested on his laurels"? My guess: no.

What? it's true! M. Night is living off his past success and you guys worship the ground he walks on like he's still a genius who pops out one Oscar-worthy blockbuster after another ... which he doesn't! He's not the next Spielberg, he's the new Mike Cimino.

Whatever it is I think of Shyamalan, I accept that others don't like him. I never said he was the next Spielberg. My point was that what you said earlier about MWG and me was obviously an insult, and I thought it came out of nowhere.

It was mentioned that Dev Patel might have choosen to star in "Last Airbender" due to M. Night Shyamalan, who has been getting his work greenlit based on successes he had in the (distant) past. Considering you and MWG are so quick to defend him, it would appear that, like Shyalmalan's career, your love of his movies are best on his (distant) past successes.

I know you didn't call him the next Spielberg, a magazine writer did ... and he couldn't have been any more wrong.

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Actually, Shyamalan wasn't just written about as "The Next Spielberg," he was featured on the cover of NEWSWEEK with that headline in the wake of his early successes SIXTH SENSE and SIGNS...

"Sex and the City, Too" really hits home in a lot of the essential emotional elements of filmmaking, but it goes about these desired effects in an entirely backwards fashion.  This is a film that may quite easily have the audience laughing, crying, getting sick to their stomachs, vomiting, and even contemplating suicide.  The emotional rollercoaster that is "Sex and the City, Too" achieves such successes by literally forcing viewers to sit through nearly two and a half hours of greedy, whiny, stubborn, ignorant, lazy, and UGLY middle aged women who are obsessed with dressing up like drag queens despite the fact that they are presented as females.  Not only does this movie contain the same excruciatingly gluttonous (lack of a) plot as the series and the first movie, it is set in Dubai making it all the more "in your face".  Featuring guest appearances from Miley Cyrus and Liza Manelli, "Sex and the City, Too" should easily "win" a few categories and hopefully it will be re-considered by certain people for "Worst Picture" before the spray painted gold is handed out.

Yep, that sums up the movies and TV series quite nicely.

If you ask my opinion, either 'The Last Fart-Bender' or 'Vampires Suck... BUT NOT AS MUCH AS THIS MOVIE!' have the Worst Picture trophy in the bag (unless there are dark horses, like 'Burlesque' and 'Eek-Lips', waiting in the wings to seize their chances).

Film Reel, didn't see Burlesque on the worst picture shortlist of my nomination ballot, so you can forget about that one.

The reason I mentioned 'Burlesque' Vhied was coz, according to some news sources, it's on the Razzie shortlist so in your case, it would be a horse so dark you wouldn't even know it was there.
