PIXAR HAS BECOME THE GO-TO STUDIO. EV'RY MOVIE THEY MAKE TURNS OUT TO BE GOOD, INCLUDING THE FIRST "CARS", ALTHOUGH THAT'S OFTEN CONSIDERED THE WORST LEAST GOOD PIXAR MOVIE. WHICH IS WHY IT'S CONFUSING WHY, OF ALL PIXAR MOVIES, THEY FELT THIS ONE NEEDED A SEQUEL*. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005124 - , CO-DIRECTOR AND CO-WRITER OF BOTH MOVIES AND FOUNDER OF PIXAR, HAS STATED "CARS" WAS HIS FAV OF THEIR PROJECTS. MOMENT OF SILENCE... OF CONFUSION!

- .

AMONG THE VOICE CAST, THE MAIN ACTORS ARE RAZZIE NOMINEES  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005562 -  AND http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1249256 - , WHO REPRISE THEIR USUAL ROLES AS THE LOVEABLE JERK AND THE REDNECK WE'RE FORCED TO LOVE.

USERS HERE WERE WONDERING IF THIS MOVIE DESERVED A FORUM, AND AFTER THE REVIEWS CAME IN (BEING WORSE THAN "BAD TEACHER") SOME ASKED FOR A FORUM. BUT ALL THEY GOT WAS A BERRY EERLY FORUM FOR http://www.razzies.com/forum/forum-discussion-addl-info-on-trannies-3_forum535.html - . SO I THOUGHT IT SHOULD GET ONE. SURE, IT MAY NOT GET ANY NOMS, SEEING AS VOTERS MAY STILL BE FOND OF PIXAR IN GENERAL, BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. ANYWAY, WHAT ARE YER THOUGHTS ABOUT http://disney.go.com/cars - ?

*SEEING AS SEQUELS ARE ALWAYS NEEDED... RIGHT?

After MATER tows whatever's left of the movie, who's gonna tow him?!

Oh now, don't you start! The only thing I hate about this film is John Lassenter's ego.

You know this summer movie season is going to Hell if Pixar is releasing a stinker!

Honestly, I can't think of any summers in the past 15 years that has had so many disappointing films released -- and June isn't even over yet!

Looks like Pixar doesn't care about toys, bugs, monsters, fishes, superheroes, rats, robots, and dogs that have speech collars on. They all want cars and more CARS! Forget the toys! Seriously, Cars is starting to become like the Hannah Montana of Pixar, even though the first Cars was decent.

I want to see it though since it has the trailer for Brave, and a Toy Story short.

I read that the critics are blowing this out of the water simply as a way to blast a Pixar film (and I don't trust the IMDB ratings, either -- there are too many Cars haters there that would rate it a 1 without seeing it).

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Gotta agree with you that there does appear to be some kind of "Pixar backlash" involved in this film's numbers, specifically those on R.T. ( http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/cars_2/ -

I know, right?! So what if "Cars" toys sell or not. "Incredibles 2", "Monsters Inc. 2", or "Finding Nemo 2" would have been a MUCH better choice than doing a sequel to one of the least liked of the Pixar movies.

How could they make a Finding Nemo sequel? Maybe, it could by a Dory spin-off.

Also, my niece and nephew saw this yesterday and they enjoyed it.

I don't know, but however it would be done, it would have been better than a sequel to "Cars" of all movies.

The only Pixar sequel that could work would be THE INCREDIBLES 2(and I think the sequel is needed).A BUG'S LIFE 2 maybe depending on the plot. Not so sure about MONSTERS INC 2(which is happening).Every other Pixar sequel would suck, because their stories had enough closure.

Toy Story didn't need a sequel (much less two) and the sequels were still great.

RESPONSE from Vits: Like "A Bug's Life", "Toy Story"'s sequels depended on the plot. I haven't seen the 3rd one yet, but I know both sequels deal with the issue of kids growing up and forgetting their toys, something that's important in the universe of those movies.

Um it's a prequel and it's called Monsters University not Monsters Inc 2. Just correcting you.

The 30% and 50% ratings may not seem all that bad, but like thom said, no Pixar movie has ever gotten less than 80-90% before! And yes, Pixar movies tend to have closure and aren't open-ended for sequels to swoop in, which is why their follow-ups would have to be prequels ("Monsters Inc.) or spin-offs ("Finding Nemo"). And yes, "Incredibles 2" would make for the best sequel, because the stale state of the superhero movie is in need of a breath of fresh air!

Cars 2 wasn't horrible, but it wasn't good either. For a non-Pxiar film, it's pretty mediocre. The question, "Why, John Lasseter?" was repeated in my head throughout the film. The plot is kinda confusing and it really needed some work. The film looks fantastic though, but that's a given for a Pixar film. 5.5/10

If anything, "Cars 2" MIGHT fall under Worst Excuse For Family/Children's Entertainment, if such a cateogry is invented for all this year's crappy animated movies and/or live action "family movies".

Can anyone who's seen this in 3D say if this was bad enough for a Worst Eye-Gouging Misuse Of 3D nomination if we keep it?

That's a no. Animated films usually always have great 3D.

Judging by its 34% on Rotten Tomatoes, 'Cars 2' is definately an insurance write-off (Rango's path to Oscar glory keeps getting wider everyday). It's off to the 'Sequel Pound' with this wreck...

And Disney/Pixar just annouced "Toy Story 4". UGH!!!! The ending to part three was perfect, there is NO need for a part four!

Don't believe everything Tom Hanks tell you. Pixar has no intentions of doing a fourth Toy Story, the only reason they would, would be because of Disney and even then John Lassenter is in charge of the animation department, and he doesn't like the idea of a fourth Toy Story 4.

I'm not sure if they will do a Nemo sequel. If they do, hope it would be good. Finding Nemo when it was released years ago, was my niece's favorite and almost 7 years later, it's my daughter's favorite, too. Hopefully, if they will make a sequel... sure that would be a hit, specially to my daughter.

Firstly, welcome to the forums, towelk and the idea of doing a Finding Nemo sequel would be great, provided that they wouldn't screw it up. I was really begging for Pixar to have made a Incredibles sequel.

Here's what I think SHOULD be on the ballot....

Worst Actor:
Larry the Cable Guy/ CARS 2
Worst Sequel or Prequel: CARS 2

Making the sidekick played by Larry the Cable Guy, the main protagonist in this movie was the dumbest thing that Pixar could ever do.... At one point his red neck-towtruck really got under my skin...

And maybe....

Worst Picture: CARS 2
Worst Screenplay: Cars 2

The first one mainly because of the idea that Pixar follows it's two Best Picture-nominated films up with LARRY THE CABLE GUY: SECRET AGENT....

RESPONSE from Vits: I hear you. I don't know if I've mentioned this, but I was a foreign exchange student years ago, and I lived in a farm in a town called Lamar close to Missouri. So if there's someone that get under my skin is a redneck.

RESPONSE from Vits: I just saw it. It's message was a major hypocrisy. They spend 2/3 of the movie highlighting that MATER's a redneck, and then they try to make us feel bad for laughin' at him!

I give this 5/10 (I gave the 1st one a 6).

Both movies sucked big time. I walked out on both after the first 30 minutes. They are just excuses for Disney to make car-related, tie-in products.

The first "Cars" may have been an OK film, but this sequel is terrible. This film MUST win a Razzie award (or at least get nominated for one)!

Here are the awards I think this first "awful" PIXAR film should win:

*Worst Prequel, Remake, Rip-Off, or Sequel

*Worst Eye-Gouging Misuse of 3D

*Worst Actor (Larry Da Cay-bull g (Larry The Cable Guy) )

These are my predictions.

By the way, when will the Razzies give awards to the Direct-to-Dideo / Straight-to-DVD films?

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Thanks for the feedback! Most people discussing CARS 2 declare it a "bitter disappointment" (especially considering its Pixar pedigree) but few consider it among 2011's Berry Worst. Doesn't mean it won't get nominations, but suggests it's not likely to be up for one of our Dis-Honors.

As far as Direct-to-DVD titles, since our rules structure is taken from the guidelines for the Oscars, anything not theatrically released does not currently qualify. Here's a http://www.razzies.com/forum/the-2011-list-jan-114_topic4752.html%20 -
