No, because Hayden TRIES to put meaning into his lines... and fails miserabley. Keanu just gave up on that.

Yes, but they both have the same type of voice: an emotionless monotone. I think that's actually the problem with Hayden. He tries to portray emotion by merely changing the volume of his voice, and not the pitch. But you're right. Keanu doesn't try.

You forgot Crispin Glover(as much as I absoultely and completely adore him...I think he would make a fun addition to your musical).

But fun may not be the point...

And now, for MY personal nightmare cast for a musical(with ALL fun removed):

Mariah Carey

Robbie Williams(do you guys over there know who he is?)

Jack Black

Madonna(in Evita mode)

Bono(at his most pompous)

J-Low

Kylie(Minogue)'s ass(the most interesting part of her, apparently. And she could finally sing out of it. This could also apply to J-Lo)

Victoria Beckham

Tatu(fully dressed and actually forced to SING)

James Blunt or any of the other faux-folkies and "serious singer-songwriters"("Hey!Look at me! I write MY OWN songs!!! And play my own instruments!!I deserve praise!"--No you don't: 99% of mostly unknown, REAL musicians and bands do that anyway. That's what being an actual musician is about!)

Chris Martin(although starring in the same movie as Bono might bring on an identity crisis for both)

This list could go on...

Of course, this movie could NEVER happen, as none of its potential stars would accept to share the spotlight with any of the others.

Nah...I just thought his rendition of These Boots Were Made For Walking was a million times better than Jessica Simpson's...

Besides...the guy couldn't hit a note even if he drove a Mack Truck...

I actually LOVE his version. I have even been known to occasionally play it, on the rare occasions I have DJ'd (albeit blended with The Residents' take on Boots). I know it is technically cringingly bad...but it's got something...

It's not just the singing, either...it's the "emotion" in the voice: to me, it feels like he is conveying the wrong feeling for the lyrics, but somehow, it sounds SO WRONG...it ends up sounding right. I just LOVE it!

Whereas, take Jessica Simpson version: It is so "technically right" and so polished that it ends up sounding like nothing. They even had to make up for the mediocrity of the song by showing flesh in the video... And even that was boring!

That said...I still think Mr Glover would be hilarious coupled up in a musical with Shatner...

Or...Imagine a plot involving him romancing Mariah Carey...  (My apologies to Crispin Glover!)

What's worse is that I actually heard Grace Jones sing...and the only thing that sounds worse is msde by accidentally running over a cat's tail with your car...
