So...have you learnt all about how "to keep a man", how you should "be yourself, and not care about how you look( because otherwise you are one of those foolish, image-obsessive women)", but how you can only do that provided you look like a porn-star or a fifteen-year old stick insect? have you learnt how to treat men like emotionally-retarded children and condescend to them, whilst manipulating them into giving you things because , for all your condescending, you should always assume THEY are the ones who have the actual power? GOD. I hate women's magazines(and "lads' mags"). They treat their readers like children. Anyway...
Women's mags...not a good place to start your researches!
Asking women: good idea, but still...i will keep mantaining that attraction is completely subjective. Also...personality is always the key. ALWAYS. Looks without personality don't look so good... Now I'll shut up and stop preaching.

One of the things I've noticed is that women seem to have different tastes in men. One woman will say "he's so hot" and I can ask another woman who'll say "eww gross". I was shocked that not all women liked Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt, but I was happy when a woman said something completely off the wall like they thought Kevin Spacey or Paul Giamatti was hot. To all women across the earth: Thank you for thinking for yourselves and giving a chance to the "ugly guy" Here's a list of guy I want the "women's persective" on: Matthew McConaughey, Mel Gibson, Kevin Costner, Sean Connery, Jake Gyllenhall, Chad Michael Murray. |

Dunno about "women's" perspective, but shall I give you MY take on these "hunks"? McConaughey: plain, dull, probably wouldn't look at him twice if I saw him walking down the street. Looks like the everage Joe walking down the street, in fact. Only he's much duller. Mel Gibson: I find him repulsive. Not quite "Tom Cruise-repulsive", but not far off either... Costner: wimpy, whiney, uninteresting Connery: I like him, but I am not really attracted to him. Also, the Bond association really puts me off him... Gyllenhall: nice eyes, like his sister. Interesting... but still to much of a "pretty boy", for my liking. Chad Michael Murray:...?Am I being really ignorant? |

Uh, gertie, I'm not exactly sure if old guys like Sean Connery are considered "Hunks." True, old people are not attractive because of those wrinkles all over them, but they don't look like "Hunks" to me.

Sportsartist: I was merely replying to Deadguy's post. He asked for womens' opinions on various actors, including Sean Connery. Connery WAS, in fact, described as a "hunk", in his younger days(and still is often described as such nowadays!). I was not discussing people I think are "hunks". I thought the point was to disscuss the ones that are defined as such by the media, but that we think are not... I have to disagree with your wrinkles comment. Lots of people look more attractive as they age, in my opinion.

Erm...first of all, I NEVER called him "hot" (a term I would be very unlikely to use in the first place), but merely admitted to liking him(which I do! Truth is...I am a sucker for a good actor. Also...I was trying to provide a further example to illustrate Deadguy's "off the wall" comment... |

well, then, gertie, my apologies, haven't seen any of the James Bond films with Sean Connery in them for quite a long time, but besides Sean Connery, what do you think of the other James Bond actors? George Lazenby |

As I have already mentioned, the James Bond connection may be making me negatively-biased towards these actors, as I cannot stand Bond as a character. I don't find any of the men you have listed particularly attractive(especially Roger Moore. Yuck!). They are all too..."Bondy". If I had to pick a Bond actor, at gunpoint, it would probably have to be Connery.

I see, unfortunately, gertie, I actually ment if those men listed can be rated/roasted as "Hunks" if possible.

That's what I meant. I do not find any of these men attractive. I was merely stating that the reason for my not doing so may be their Bond connection. However, trying to be subjective, I do not think they would appeal to me, even if they hadn't played Bond.
