Judd Apatow rarely produces bad movies. And his best are the ones he writes and directs. But I don't have my hopes up with THIS IS 40 (link), because I feel everything we needed to know about those characters was developed enough in KNOCKED UP. And the trailer for 3, 2, 1... FRANKIE GO BOOM (link) revealed way too many plot twists, so I lost interest halfway through. Not a very promising day for Chris O'Dowd.

Might as well do my predictions here till years end...
21st of November Red Dawn = With a lot of early bad reviews it seems like a ripe contender for a Razzie-forum... It also helps that all the other movies this weekend are well-reviewed festival leftovers... 30th of November The Collection = Sequel to mostly forgotten 2009 torture porn-film named The Collector (30% on RT)... It is directed by the screenwriter of the Saw-movies and Piranha 3DD... While it is currently at 100% on RT, I am sure it will drop a lot in the next couple of weeks (Conan the Barbarian-style)... mainly because only the standard horror-reviewers have seen it yet... Universal Soldier IV: Day of Reckoning = I wasn't aware that they still made sequels to Universal Soldier... Neither was I aware that those sequels were still released in movie theatres... It seems like our kind of movie... it only needs some more bad reviews (currently sits at 88% on RT making it Van Damme's best reviewed movie ever)... The Mystic Laws = I've only heard about this movie because it was on the Oscar-shortlist for best animated feature... After seeing the trailer (link) I honestly thought that it was some sort of right-wing christian-propaganda... But seems to be propaganda for some sort of Japanese cult named Happy Science... The only reason why it is being released in the U.S. is so that it can have an Oscar-qualifying run... But still only worth our attention if both The Collection and Universal Soldier IV pull a fast five on us... 7th of December Playing for Keeps = A generic looking motivational sports movie starring Gerard Butler which seems likely to bomb just as hard as that other generic looking motivational sports movie starring Gerard Butler (Chasing Mavericks) did earlier this year... 14th of December The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey = I am really hoping that this movie will be good and the Hobbit-trilogy won't be the LOTR-equivalent of the Star Wars-prequels... seeing that no other movies are released this weekend... I've decided to let it temporarily fill this spot on my list... 21th of December The Guild Trip = An unfunny looking road trip-comedy starring Seth Rogan and Barbra Streisand directed by the director of Step Up and 27 Dresses... Jack Reacher = Something about this just feels as if they are only making this movie so that Tom Cruise has a new franchise... But somehow I feel it will fail at the box office thanks to it's generic title (just like Alex Cross)... 28th of December Parental Guidance = I hate to look this far ahead... But assume this is going to be our worst of the week-pick thanks to it's director who made You Again, The Game Plan and one of my personal most hated She's The Man... Any thoughts, feedback, complaints, rants, disagreements or agreements? |

You're right. Movies titled after the main character[s] are what studios aim for when they're trying to start a franchise.
No, it will be chosen. I know this because, in the forum polls for Worst Actor & Actress suggestions, HeadRAZZ himself said that we should look out for Billy Crystal and Bette Midler.
