Has there ever been a worse opening than this for a wide release? Even films like GIGLI had $1000+ per theatre average.

Actually, GIGLI opened to about $1,700 per screen the first weekend in August 2003 (according to B.O. MOJO). So, YES, the numbers for UNDISCOVERED suggest it will likely live up to its title!

I just checked Box Office MoJo for figures on this and on Monday, August 29, it grossed JUST $59 PER SCREEN (meaning not even 10 people paid for admission at each theatre, when it's probably showing at least 5 times a day)!!

Indeed, this is starting to make GIGLI look like TITANIC. Maybe Lion's Gate will realize they'd better Cash-in-Quick, and RELEASE IT on DVD NEXT WEEK?!?!?

Speaking of TITANIC, as of Wednesday, August 31, UNDISCOVERED was down to just...$45 per theatre!

National Lampoons GOLD DIGGERS was released to 1062 theatres in September of 2004, and only made $403,164 - $379 per theatre. Box Office Mojo sez that it finished with just $527,000 - I think they just stopped tracking after the 1st week. Who knows, it could have had a worse 2nd weekend than UNDISCOVERED also.

FYI: The lowest-grossing Worst Picture "Winner" in RAZZIE® History is Joe (SHOWGIRLZ) Eszterhas' 1998 turkey AN ALAN SMITHE FILM: BURN, HOLLYWOOD, BURN. It was such a bomb that it never played in more than 19 theatres, and it's total box office, according to B.O. Mojo, was just $45,779...
