I've just seen this movie (both the R-rated and the Unrated versions) and it was pretty bad. I can definitely say the Unrated version was a lot worse. But hell man, either way, this one is way worse than the first BASIC INSTINCT, which made over $115 Million at the B.O. in 1992. B-I-2 was a huge bomb at the B.O. making only about $5 Million. Anyways, I would like to see Sharon Stone win the Worst Actress Razzie for this film at the 27th Annual Razzie Awards!

As of about 4pm/PST on December 8, sportsartist24, things are lookin' Berry Promising for Mizz Stone to at least make it onto our Nominating Ballot. After that, it's a question of whether our members think Sharon, the Duff Sisters, or one of our other likely finalists for Worst Actress of 2006, sucked worst...

I agree that she deserves a Razzie nomination this year. She gave a terrific performance in the original, and she was nominated for a Golden Globe (I thought she deserved an Oscar nomination). But I just watched the trailer for BI2, and it looks like she's forcing herself to act sexy (which was so natural in the first movie) and it isn't working. She is too old, and has obviously forgotten how she acted 14 years ago.

But I don't think she should win. The award should go to a truly talentless actress like the Duff Sisters or Kristanna Loken.

The Duff Sisters and Kristanna Loken don't have a lot of talent, but Sharon Stone was just really bad in this one. This film was even worse than the first Basic Instinct, though now both Basic Instinct movies each have Razzie noms, but the first one also got a couple Oscar noms back in 1992.

Oh, and this is my first post, so, it looks like I'm gonna be climbing aboard.

The first Basic Instinct was pretty good, but not that good. It still was pretty bad. This one just bombed. Stone deserved this Razzie nom, and if she ends up winning, she'll deserve it alright. My point is that a woman close to the age of 50 cannot be seductive.

The problem with Sharon Stone in this movie is that she's just trying to be sexy, which is pushing it too far. She was like 48 when they did this film, so why should she even try to be sexy at that old age. I think I know the answer. Perhaps it's that we don't want to know.

I think that's always the problem for most Hollywood actresses, they think it's all about their looks...

Well, sportsartist, your thoughts of Mizz Stone winning the Worst Actress Razzie for this film came true. I just looked at the 27th Annual RAZZIE Winners, and saw that Sharon Stone won the Worst Actress RAZZIE.

Well, my prediction actually did come true. Stone is a 9-time Razzie nominee, and this is her 3rd Razzie Award. She previously won 2 Razzies back in 1994, Worst Actress for Intersection and The Specialist, and Worst Screen Couple with Sly in The Specialist (they tied for that award with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles).

I believe that B-I-2 ties with last year's Worst Picture winner Dirty Love, with four Razzies.

Yes, Basic Instinct 2 won four Razzies, tying with Dirty Love from last year. It also ties with Catwoman from 2004 with four Razzies as well.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Catwoman - wow! I have not found a movie to beat Battlefield Earth or Showgirls, though.

I still remember back in 2003, when one film came one award shy of tying Battlefield and Showgirls for the record: Gigli, which "won" (and I think deserved) 6 Razzie Awards. Battlefield Earth won 7 Razzies, but only had 8 nominations. Showgirls still holds the record for most Razzie nominations, not to mention it's our Head RAZZberry's favorite bad movie: It had 13 nominations, and "won" 7 spray-painted statuettes.

Response from Head RAZZberry: As long as we're talking RAZZIE trivia and GIGLI, it does hold one historic distinction -- GIGLI is still the only film ever to "win" ALL 6 TOP RAZZIES (Worst Picture, Worst Actor, Worst Actress, Worst Screen Couple, Worst Director and Worst Screenplay). Guess you could say it's the RAZZIE equivalent of IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT (the first film ever to win all five top Oscars).

And while we're on the subject of my Berry Favorite Bad Movies, SHOWGIRLS I think personifies what we're all about, but I'd have to also include MOMMIE DEAREST and Pia Zadora's LONELY LADY on any short list of The All-Time Funniest RAZZIE "Dramas."

Ah, yes. Point taken. Yeah, that did all happen in one night. And as for Showgirls, was its director, Paul Verhoeven, the first RAZZIE loser to accept that award, or was there another person who accepted their award before he did?

Anyways, as for some of my personal Berry Favorite Bad Movies, I have some of them. Under the Cherry Moon is one of them, only because I'm a fan of Prince, well his music actually. I know Prince won 3 RAZZIES for that film. He has also received 7 other RAZZIE nominations though. I also know Under the Cherry Moon did tie with  Howard the Duck for Worst Picture back in 1986, and that was like the first time that's happened. Then there was another year where two films tied for Worst Picture, and I'm sure you know all about that, as well as those RAZZIE noms Prince has received.

One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and The Silence of the Lambs join It Happened One Night on the short list of films that have won all five major Oscars. But, as you said, Gigli is the only movie to achieve the Razzie equivalent of that distinction.

I think we all remember what else happened in 2003. Well, besides The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King winning all 11 Oscar nominations, a new Oscar record for winning the highest amount of Oscar nomination, all of them, and tying the Oscar record for most wins for a motion picture, along with 2 other films, but also, I remember Sly won his 10th RAZZIE Award for his supporting role for SPY KIDS 3: GAME OVER. Not to mention those 5 roles fit in that category.
