Down for the Count? Guess Again...

Rocky's getting back in the ring, and Rambo isn't far behind. Sylvester Stallone riffs on life with his twin typecasts: action hero and lovable underdog.

The house that "Rocky" built isn't without its trap doors. Along with his best actor Oscar nomination, Sylvester Stallone holds the dubious distinction of winning 10 Razzies, for worst performance.


His Razzies include worst actor for "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot," worst screenplay for "Rambo II," worst director for "Rocky IV," worst screen couple --with Sharon Stone--for "The Specialist" and worst supporting actor for "Spy Kids 3-D." Oh, yes, did we mention worst actor of the century?

"That's all?" he says. "I'm sorry. I'm slipping."


Stallone's comedy misfires are almost legendary. "Rhinestone," "Oscar" and "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" had audiences howling in the aisles for all the wrong reasons.

"It didn't work," he says, shaking his head. "I should have realized that. I should have sat back and said, 'Do I want to see John Wayne do slapstick?' Not really. Therefore, end of mystery."

With him finally admitting to making his non pulsed Turkeys , I really do think you should finally give Stallone a chance at his lifetime achievement. He may actually surprise us all this year and show up!

If the Little Naked Gold Men Awards Show can pass out the Thalberg and Hersholt awards, there is no reason why the Razzies can't do the same with Stallone and Madonna counterparts!

That automatically discredits this site. Out of all the actors...the truly horrific actors, you throw someone like Sylvester Stallone in there and label him THE worst actor of all time? I don't even have the words for how unbelievably idiotic and just plain ludicrous that is. Even if I wasn't a fan at all, I wouldn't understand that. You people obviously have not seen very many movies.

I wouldn't say it discredits the site, but out of the 100 years that movie making has been around, I wouldn't count Stallone as the worst actor ever. There have been worse, mostly from the 80s action movie craze, but Stallone has made the most money from those movies, which is why I think the Razzies single him out. Yes, the Sly Guy is past his prime, but kicking him while he's down is like beating a dead horse with a stick. We should move on to another actor.

As for naming awards after people, the Madonna Award for Worst Actress would be a good idea (or Pia Z). As for Worst Actor, why not Ronald Reagan? And, of course, the Edward D. Wood Jr. Award for Worst Director.
