Oh, this is another messterpiece that sunk under the Razzie Radar.

Tom Selleck stars as an engineer cop who goes after Bad Robots. He
winds up chasing Gene Simmons who acts like an EVIL Andy Kaufman
clone. Cynthia Rhodes, coming off of her 15th minute of fame in Staying
Alive is Tom's main squeeze, while Gene gets down with an evil Kirstie
Alley.

Gene develops a gun that fires mini missiles at people based on their heat
signature. The "missiles" move so slow that Tom outruns them every time
and they have some really BAD special effects from the POV of the missile
taking 3 minutes to go through a 10 foot pipe. So, Gene then goes back
to the drawing board and unleashes a bunch of mechanical spiders to go
after Tom. They chase Tom all the way up a building in construction. You
wind up rooting for the spiders...

Michael Crichton wrote this (on a bad hair day) and he directed it as well.
It really is just a hoot to watch. It's a shame MST3K never got a shot at
this!

Maybe Gene should have kept the make-up on. His performances with KISS were a hell of a lot better than those in his films.
