Code Name: The Cleaner

The Bourne Identity


   This parody of The Bourne Identity (and possibly a few other spy movies) falls squarely into B movie territory, and to be honest, I laughed many times through the movie.  The scene with Cedric the Entertainer and Nicolette Sheridan in the bedroom thankfully came off as funny as it should.  The acting is what made this movie, although DeRay Davis' performance as a janitor/rapper wannabe just didn't do it for me.  If there's any real Razzie material in this one, I feel it's the direction (Les Mayfield) and the screenplay (Robert Adetuyi and George Gallo) for a couple of really big problems with the plot.  Without spoiling the movie (isn't it already?), the plot holes involve (one) Jake's (Cedric) amnesia and Diane (Sheridan), and (two) the computer chip.  The climax and the ending were lame, too.
