Mizz Berry graced our stage for nearly 8 minutes, and was alternately touching and hilarious. Here, in one-minute-sized bites, is her entire speech: 4) Halle "thanks" The Cast and Crew 5) Halle on Director: "What the Hell was he saying?" 6) Halle: "Why I'm really here tonight..." And here's a LINK to CNN, to view a video giving Mizz Berry their "award" for "Best Acceptance Speach" of 2005...

What a fantastic speech. She really should be proud of herself for
submitting to that. |

In the entire 27 year history of The RAZZIES®, only the following people have willingly collected their $4.79 worth of Spray-Painted Gold: Bill Cosby for LEONARD: PART 6 (Cosby arranged to have the film's three RAZZIES® re-created out of 24-carat-gold and Italian marble, funded by Fox Networks to the tune of $27,500. They were then presented to him "live-on-tape" at Harrah's Lake Tahoe, and his acceptance of them was broadcast during "sweeps " on the Fox LATE SHOW) Paul Verhoeven for SHOWGIRLS (The Dutch director became the first "winner" ever to attend our ceremonies when his film set an all-time RAZZIE® record with 13 Nominations and 7 "wins." In addition to his own trophy for Worst Director, Verhoeven also retrieved the statuette for Worst Picture) Brian Helgeland for THE POSTMAN (Helgeland won both an Oscar and a RAZZIE® in the same weekend. His Best Screenplay Oscar was for L.A. CONFIDENTIAL. He arranged, after the fact, to be presented with his RAZZIE® for Worst Screenplay in his production office on the Warner Brothers back lot) Tom Green for FREDDY GOT FINGERED (When Green's wretchedly unfunny "comedy" about child abuse and playing with dead animals "swept" The 22nd Annual RAZZIES®, he was on hand to collect all five of its statuettes, including Worst Picture, Worst Actor and Worst Director. Green got worldwide press coverage for doing so) Michael Ferris (One of a reported 27 screenwriters who had a hand in concocting 2004's CATWOMAN, he gamely attended our 2005 ceremonies, happily accepted his Worst Screenplay dis-honor, and thanked us for boosting the film's video sales) Halle Berry for CATWOMAN (Exhibiting a wonderful sense of humor, and a delightful willingness to poke fun at herself and her big budget box office bomb, Berry became the first True Star ever to appear on our stage. As the Video Clips attest, her appearance brought the house down at The 25th Annual RAZZIES®)

What a class act! And the best part is, it definitely looks like there won't be a Catwoman 2. |

After seeing Halle Berry's acceptance speech, I have to wonder why other stars haven't followed suit. That is, until I remember. . . . "Oh, yeah, we're saying you stank in a stinky movie. . . ." Ego rules way too often. There's so little humility, and too few people can laugh at themselves. Halle Berry shows she can take it, and she shows she even can make the best of it. Great acceptance speech!

I had a small questionon regarding Bill Cosby... Did he accept the original RAZZIES on top of this, or were they all the "supersized" awards??? And to think these are truly the most expensive RAZZIES ever made... Response from Head RAZZberry: Actually, we never attempted to get "real RAZZIES®" to Mister Cosby, as he seemed so pleased with the way-too-expensive ersatz ones he had gotten from Fox... |

If it gets any colder out there it will be a Hollywood script.

I remember he also went on The Tonight Show and showed off these "Razzies" to Johnny Carson! He tells the story that he insisted they be made...he earned them, he should get them. Almost 1/2 of his interview, the Razzies were all he talked about. BTW, this was my 1st intro to the Golden Razzberries.

You may want to record who made these "ersatz Razzies" so if any other star or studio are willing to pay for something more substantial than the official $4.97 statuettes (and I will never quite understand why), you may refer the same makers. Then again, why? Besides, no one has asked for this since. |

According to Internet Movie Data Base, Tom Selleck also accepted his award for "Christopher Columbus: The Discovery" while he was a guest on "The Chevy Chase Show." Response from Head RAZZberry: OOPS! You're right -- I somehow omitted Selleck when making the list of "acceptors" posted above. Selleck was berry funny on THE CHEVY CHASE SHOW, asking the audience to validate his "win" by all blowing a giant RAZZ-berry in unison...
