She didn't write "Life in Ruins", it was actually written by a screenwriter who worked on "The Simpsons". But judging by the other scripts she has written, she doesn't know much else besides writing about that typecasted Greek woman character that I mentioned above.

Yea, I don't think she can be considered "Typecast" for a role you write for yourself. That's like giving yourself a nickname. Also, considering how she always writes herself as the same character, that ought to tell you about the level of her acting and writing ability.

As I look back at this thread, I think the original question is not if she's a character actor, but if she is a typecasted actress paid to play the same role as the odd girl out Greek woman who has troubles in love, but ends up getting the man of her dreams by accident.

Neither did I, but when I hear the word "character actor", I think actor who usually an unknown, that gives a great performance, usually in bit parts or supporting roles. But that's just me.

No.They don't always play the same characters.I mean actors who aren't famous by name,but with recognizable faces.Also,I didn't invent the term "Character actor",so I don't control it's meaning.

Actually,I saw a mini-TV-documentary about that book,and that's not for actors who play the same characters,it's for non-stars that people mostly recognize by face rather than name,like Stephen Tobolowski,Daniel Roebuck and Luis Guzman.
