I don't know, with Redbox, there's only so many ways to divide a single dollar between the studio and the Rexbox company.

I just saw it.

The first half I was sort of intrigued by the premise and getting scared when suppossed. The second half I was feeling ashamed of the unoriginality(even if this wasn't a reamke),getting bored instead of scared, and wondering how bad this would be.The ending was bold and at least made me not feel like it was a waste of time.

Dylan Walsh makes a very creepy villain but that doesn't mean good performance.Nor does walking around showing off you body(Amber Heard),nor...whatever Penn Badgley thinks he does here,in GOSSIP GIRL,etc.

Despite being nominated for 2 Teen Choice Awards,at least it lost to better reviewed movies:PARANORMAL ACTIVITY for "Choice Movie-Thriller" and Leo DiCaprio(SHUTTER ISLAND)instead of Badgely for "Choice Movie Actor-Thiller".

I give this 3/10.

Well, i guess it's okay if I see it on free cable or RedBox, so the studios don't see a penny from me.

Well, maybe some people are just curious. I know you must have done that one time or another...

Then why do they go see them? That's like "oh, I know I'll burn myself if I stick my hand over this open flame, but I'm going to do it anyway, just to see what happens"??

Well, my point was that it wasn't lackluster because the film contained quite a bit of suspense and I stress the word "quite." My brother hated Prom Night and the NOES remake and even he ended up liking this film. I also like to mention those who have seen it said it was decent and far from being one of the more terrible remakes and this is coming from horror fanatics who hate remakes.

For the triad memorial service for originality, America's Most Wanted promotion, and behind the scenes at Knott's Scary Farm, I've named this remake the #21 Worst Film of '009.

So what you're saying is if a movie is made in order to make a quick buck with lackluster effort and it's successful at being just that (and nothing more) it should be praised?

Oh, and I saw the film and I didn't think this film deserve a 11% on RT. That's plain ridiculous. The film sets out to do what it requires to do. It gets the job done effectively and efficiently. I honestly don't think that's a bad thing when a film achieves what it sets out to do.

I was kinda saying that it doesn't take a genius to figure out the stepfather was evil in the original and in the remake. It's just something known when you walk in seeing the film. At least that's what I think. Disturbia did the same thing.

So where's the star-studded memorial for cinematic originality?

Knott's Scary Farm of Southern California and even America's Most Wanted promoted this...only to lose. What a shame. I was born in late 1990 going on 1991, so before long (I'd estimate around 2014), they'll be remaking horror movies from after I was born.

But isn't that the point?

I was talking about Halloween, not Father's Day -- but that would have been interesting.

I find it cool that there have been a stepmother and stepfather movie in the same year: This and The Uninvited, which came out earlier this year.

What do Christmas and Thanksgiving have to do with Father's Day, which is in June? This movie is months late for what could have been a more ironic (and ideal) release date.

Well, actually, it makes sense releasing it like a week or 2 before the actual date because if you release it on the date, then Christmas/Thanksgiving comes right around the corner.
