Unfortunately, the original ideas they are coming up with are even worse than the remake crap.Wink

I re-watched it.

I did a research to see the differences between this and the original. I think the plot changes were for the better. I prefer a repetitive movie than an inconsistent one.

Camilla Belle gave one of the worst performances I've ever seen. It was like the director run into someone he knew who wasn't an actress and said "Would you like to be in my movie? I'll teach you how to act on set".

I know I said I didn't like the ending. That's because final scares tend to feel like a cheat. But after analyzing, it's the best ending that can come from the plot. Not to mention that it was one of the very very few scary moments (the rest were jump scares and teasing). Another scary moment was the beginning, which was excellent. No, really. It was everything the beginning of a Horror Movie should be.

I give it 4/10.

Typical, cheap "what a twist!" ending to a typical, cheap thriller.

Well, the ending is the reason why people are willing to sit through the movie, so if the ending doesn't deliver, the movie has failed as a whole.

I think he means the last scene. The climax, on the other hand, delivered and it ran 20 minutes.

If you dislike the movie, then it's not "alright".

A splatter film or gore film is a type of horror film that deliberately focuses on graphic portrayals of gore and graphic violence. These films, through the use of special effects and excessive blood and guts, tend to display an overt interest in the vulnerability of the human body and the theatricality of its mutilation. Due to their willingness to portray images society might consider shocking, splatter films share some ideological grounds with the transgressive art movement. The term "splatter cinema" was coined by George Romero to describe his film Dawn of the Dead, though it should be noted that Dawn of the Dead is generally considered by critics to have higher aspirations, such as social commentary, than to be simply exploitative for its own sake.

The combination of graphic violence and sexually suggestive imagery in some films has been labeled "torture porn" or "gorno" By contrast, in films such as Braindead, the the gore is sometimes so excessive that it becomes a comedic device.

Also, I like to add, these are so many horror films released today with a hard R rating with gore, sex, and violence that they should really be called "gore films" instead of a horror film. These types of films are not suppose to be this violent! I mean, what have horror film gone to these days?! This is actually a good horror film (thriller, I say) because it uses suspense throughout the film it's actually different from the millions of gory horror films.

but this wasn't a horror film. It was a suspense thriller which people confuse by horror.

This is BADDDD...really bad

I don´t understand why Hollywood is making all this stupid remakes...Now comes WHEN A STRANGER CALLS; a frightless, dumb and cheesy "horror movie" where you can find the most numbers of movie cliches ever made...

The film is a complete dull from the beginning and the plot doesn´t go anywhere...What was 12 minutes in SCREAM...now becomes an hour and some more of complete bore from top to bottom

This should be nominated as worst remake and worst actress (Camila Belle...or whatever)

If she's THAT dumb, we say she deserves to die!

She was NOT dumb in this film. In fact, she was one of the most smartest heroines in a horror/thriller film. Just see the film and look at the last 20 minutes and you would know why.

Dude, the movie might not have been an original idea, but they still made a hell of a lot of money off the movie. They knew that teens would go see the movie and so even though it may not have been that good, it was scary and people want to go see scary movies.
