Jack the Giant Slayer is starting to trend more on the "Rotten" side.

But on 21 and Over, do you think we can get away by calling it a rip-off of Hangover and Project X?

With just 14 hours until release, 21 and Over is now losing 7 to 15 on the Tomatometer, with a 35% review average at Metacritic. If the reviews stay down, I want a reply from HeadRAZZ on whether he intends to start a forum for it.

I'm fairly sure Dead Man Down will get panned by critics next weekend, but any guesses as to how Oz: The Great and Powerful will do?

Right now, I am putting trust in it, but there is a chance. Dead Man Down, however, feels too cliché.

I'm thinking there'll be another week with 3 Worst New Movies of the Weak in the last 3 days before April. I agree that The Host will probably get panned, and that GI Joe: Retaliation, sequel to a 2009 Worst Picture finalist, will probably get almost as bad reviews as The Host. But I wonder if the next Tyler Perry film will get as bad of reviews as Madea's Witness Protection. (Bottom 40 Films of 2012, #15)

Temptation looks like something that should have been straight to video, but then again, ALL of Tyler Perry's movies are like that.

And since you skipped two weeks, I'll bring them up. Incredible Burt Wonderstone does not seem as funny, I know, but The Call, starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin, looks more Razzie worthy to me. Just look at the trailer:

Now on the other week, there are five films that look pretty bad. First, there is Admission, which appears to be some comedy, but doesn't look all the funny. it stars Tina Fey and Paul Rudd among others, and it is directed by Paul Weitz.

Next is Love and Honor. It also looks boring. Stars Liam Hemsworth.

We now have the most likely contender, Olympus Has Fallen, starring Movie 43 actor Gerard Butler, as well as Aaron Eckhart and Morgan Freeman. It is directed by the man who brought us Training Day, but it does not look anything like it. It one of the two "Die Hard in the White House" movies, (the other being White House Down). It just looks silly and implausible.

Spring Breakers is next, and it seems as if it is getting good reviews so far, but I feel that once it gets to public eye, the ratings will drop. This is written and directed by Harmony Korine, and if you have seen any of his movies, they are anything BUT Harmonious. It stars Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens among others as these girls who go to Florida, and meet an albino Lil' Wayne, played by James Franco, and he influences them to become crooks. It might not be Razzie worthy in the end, but you might want to keep your eyes on it.

Finally, the movie that deserves Razzie attention, but I'm not entirely sure if it will be released correctly so it will get it, InAPPropriate Comedy (GET IT?!?! Hur-hur-hur...). It stars the mess known as Lindsay Lohan, the mostly unfunny Rob Schneider, the hit-or-miss Michelle Roudriguez, and Oscar winner Adrien Brody? Why is he doing this? This is written, directed by, and also starring the Sham-Wow Guy (Whom was part of the Jack & Jill cast), and this is actually not his first time. He obviously did not improve, judging by the trailer

The only thing is, again, I have no idea if it will be released "correctly" in order to get Razzie noms, but, risking making myself sound like a masochist, I hope it does.

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are much more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

Hey oiram, I might have to steal the phrase "albino Lil' Wayne" for future use.

That being said, I'm actually looking forward to Spring Breakers.

I think there should be an Official Razzie Forum discussion for Safe Haven. This movie is already rotten at 13% on Rotten Tomatoes, and it's highly unlikely to get any higher.

Here's my recommendations for Razzie nominations:

Worst Picture. It's totally predictable from the beginning. Even the "twist" is easy to figure out (so easy you might think M. Night Shyamalan wrote it!).

Worst Actor: Josh Duhamel. His acting is very bland. All the times he is supposed to be emotional there is very little emotion, if any, shown. Josh Duhamel has the emotional range of a wall (maybe he is related to Kristen Stewart?).

Worst Actress: Julianne Hough. Just like Duhamel her "acting" is bland and near-emotionless.

Worst Director: Lasse Hallstrom. This director has not done anything to prevent the movie from being boring. Hallstrom has constructed a flick so tiresomely boring it could cure insomnia!

Worst Screenplay: Leslie Bohem & Dana Stevens. They deserve a nomination for writing dull scene after dull scene, all featuring dull dialogue...

Worst Screen Couple: Julianne Hough and Josh Duhamel. When their boring performances are combined, they make an unsatisfactory screen couple.

Worst Screen Ensemble: The entire cast is uninteresting.

Safe Haven definitely deserves a n Official Forum of its own!

Directed by Michael Bay and M. Night Shyamalan comes a movie guaranteed to win Razzies.

My reaction after watching this was a simple L.O.L.

Well, it's too late to create one. That doesn't mean it won't be nominated. I'd like to think that the hatred towards the twist ending (I don't know what it is because I haven't seen it but the majority said it was dumb) will give it more odds. Nicholas Sparks movies are long overdue for a Razzie, and maybe this will finally be the year.

I'd agree with most of Oiram's pre-1980 Worst Picture "winners," except Jesus Christ Superstar. Public opinion was by far the best out of those 10. But I'd emphatically agree with Myra Breckenridge, Exorcist II: The Heretic, and Caligula. As for Sextette, I don't know if I Spit on Your Grave was released theatrically in Los Angeles or New York that year (1978), but the reaction to that was neck-and-neck with Sextette. The public was arguably even more outraged when they found out about I Spit on Your Grave

If you've read The Official Razzie Movie Guide, you could've and should've taken some cues from the movies described in the book. Were any of the critically-panned movies released in 1973, and could've replaced Jesus Christ Superstar as your Worst Picture winner?

Jack the Giant Slayer had a worse opening day than John Carter. According to Box Office Mojo, it might not even make $24 Mio over the weekend, on a budget of  $195 Mio. I'm going to see the movie tomorrow, but have to admit, the CGI doesn't look the best and the giants' looks are putting me off.

I haven't read The Official Razzie Movie Guide, unfortunately. I actually went by something called the Golden Turkey Awards, which gave Ted Neeley the "Worst Actor to play Jesus Christ" award, so I figured that the movie wasn't highly regarded.

The only thing that I heard about The Official Razzie Movie Guide was that The Adventures was listed as the top worst films John Wilson has seen, and I thought "Oh snap. I guess I'd better have it tie with Myra Breckinridge, or Headrazz will be so mad at me." Looking at it again, though, Body of Evidence was in is book, and that didn't win Worst Picture, either, so...*shrug*

By the way, you agreed with the Picture picks, but how about the picks for things like Actors, Actresses, Director, or Screenplays? I actually chose some of my picks to see if anyone would be raging mad (The Beatles and Elizabeth Hartman, for example.) I also thought there would be some flak towards me for having Deep Throat as Worst Picture of the Decade.

Oiram: Why is F For Fake listed a Worst Picture winner? It got lots of great reviews, and is included in the highly respected Criterion DVD Collection...

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Here's the IMDb LINK for the page on Orson Welles' long-delayed F IS FOR FAKE. And here's the Rotten Tomatoes' LINK to check out its reviews (it's currently got 88% Positive). That info, combined with the fact that the film took years to complete and was never properly released in the U.S. (let alone New York or L.A.) suggest that this particular film does not belong on any RAZZIE® List...

*sigh*

HeadRAZZ demanded that I take down my pre-1980 "Razzies lists," and I had to oblige.

I'm sorry -- they weren't meant to be taken seriously. I hope that they weren't too damaging.

If anyone wants to see them, I still have them saved on my computer...

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: My "demand" that Oiram take down his lists was based on legal precedent (by appearing as links on the Forum of our Official Website, they technically endangered our trademark and copyright). I had no desire to suppress any Forum Member's expression of their personal opinions, but could not afford to take the risk that, given how and where Oiram presented his lists, they might mistakenly be seen as being somehow "official."

It's been a week since the Oscars, so I wanted to suggest that we each do a ranking of the nominees, from best to worst. But not all of us have seen all the nominees, right? So I thought "Why don't we do that, but with last year's nominees", since a year is enough time for us to see them all. I'll start:

9) THE TREE OF LIFE.
8) EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE.
7) MONEYBALL.
6) WAR HORSE.
5) MIDNIGHT IN PARIS.
4) THE HELP.
3) HUGO.
2) THE ARTIST.
1) THE DESCENDANTS.

I think only THE DESCENDANTS (and maybe THE ARTIST) deserved their ominations, but none of them deserved to win. Except for TTOL, which should instead have won... at the Razzies!
LOL
How about yours?

Too bad. It only got average reviews. And so did GINGER & ROSA (remember my prediction a few weeks ago?). Meanwhile, 21 AND OVER got bad reviews, and PHANTOM somehow scored even worse. STOKER's reviews are the best, not counting Best Foreign Film nominee WAR WITCH.

As for next week... Well, OZ's early reviews have been getting better and better. Same with THE ABC'S OF DEATH. There's also DEAD MAN DOWN, an Action Thriller with a not-so-interesting premise that stars TOTAL RECALL's Colin Farrell, but that co-stars Noomi Rapace and it's directed by her DRAGON TATTOO helmer Niels Arden Oplev and written by FRINGE's J.H. Wyman. Finally, there's EMPEROR, a War Drama that stars Tommy Lee Jones and ALEX CROSS' Matthew Fox and that's directed by HANNIBAL RISING's Peter Webber.

I think we should skip THE ABC'S because I have a hard time believing we'd have 2 Razzie-worthy Anthology Movies in the same year. Not to mention that this one isn't star-studded. There's a long history of successful foreign filmmakers not being able to success when they start making movies in Hollywood, but there's an even longer history of actors following up their Oscar nominations/wins with duds. So I think EMPEROR should get a forum.
