As of now, there still aren't any reviews for THE CALL, and BURT WONDERSTONE's R.T. numbers have been going up and down. By the way, UPSIDE DOWN started off with 20%.

Does anyone here want a VERONICA MARS movie? If not, does it make any difference to know that Kristen Bell and the show's creator both want one? Click here

New "Red Band" trailer for KICK ASS 2:

I seriously hope they don't screw this up (but it looks to have the potential to do so). Gotta admit though, I wouldn't have recognized Jim Carrey as easily if I didn't already know he was in the movie.

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are much more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

I've watched the Red Band for Kick-Ass several times already, so I think you can guess what I think of it. And remember, the really terrible scene from the comic isn't going to be in the film. When told that the really terrible scene was being removed, Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist/The Motherf*cker) said "Thank God!"

In just a few hours, they raised $2 million. The movie is officially happening.

Vits: I'd go with Jack the Giant Slayer.
I love period pieces, but I'm not much of a fan of Knightley, so I wasn't impressed with Anna Karenina. Didn't see The Last Stand, but I've lost interest in Arnold anyways.

But I enjoyed Jack, which was entertaining enough. I saw both of Hoult's movies this month, I don't mind him, but when I first saw him in About a Boy I expected great things of him. On the other hand, neither Warm Bodies nor Jack are movies that show his full potential.

You weren't impressed with the movie, or with the trailer? Did you see the movie?

And the new X-MEN movies, right?

Well yeah, we'll see about that. He even was in Clash of the Titans, but I didn't recognize him back then, only made the connection afterwards.

Seen it. Very artistic and pretty to look at, but there are a few things I didn't like at all and couldn't make sense of. There is a scene where a railroad worker blackened with soot, walkes along the train and bangs around with a hammer. A few moments later he somehow got inbetween the rails, his guts are hanging out. When she looks at the corpse, his eyes are closed, and in the next close up his eyes are wide open staring at you.
There are a few more moments where I don't know if they were meant to be "intense", at any rate, it didn't work.
Knightley shows a clean cut performance with no depth.
But hey, if you haven't seen it and are up for it, you could watch the 2012 version and then watch Garbo's highly acclaimed 1935 version right after.

Impressed with the movie, or the trailer? Did you see the movie?

LINK to view the trailer for one of the LAZIEST looking movies of the year...

Apparently, they shot new scenes that were not originally there, because:

1) A lot of the "parodies" are of recent trailers -- Basically Seltzer and  Friedberg's usual "spoofing" 101.

2) Snoop Dogg agreed to be in this movie, despite the fact he was never announced.

Finally some news from the Farrokh Bulsara Biopic! According to Deadline Tom Hooper might be directing it. At this point, I really just want a decent director to get the movie up and running. It's been at the top of my "Most Anticipated" list for too long now.

And, while I'm at it, now that the first quarter of the year is almost over, here's my Most Anticipated List for the rest of 2013 -- Kinda jumbled together, with each title obviously anticipated for different reasons:
Scary Movie 5 (especially after seeing the trailer linked above)
The Big Wedding
Smurfs 2
Grown Ups 2
Human Centipede III
The Place beyond the Pines
Mud
Antiviral
Much Ado About Nothing
The Rover
Machete Kills

Blockbusters: The Lone Ranger and Man of Steel (test audiences were positive about Man of Steel, but after seeing Cold Light of Day I'm not convinced of Cavill's acting skills).

Last year I had Great Gatsby and Hobbit on my list, but both movies lost a bit of the excitement.

MBH: Like you, one of Chile's top film critics wrote an article about upcoming movies. He went to some pre-screenings. Here are his comments (which I've shortened):

-STAR TREK PART 2: INTO DARKNESS: It's better than the first one, and it proves that J.J. Abrams was the right choice for the new episodes of STAR WARS.

-I'M SO EXCITED: It's not Pedro Almodovar's best, but it's honestly funny.

-TRANCE: It's a visually ambitious "game" that mixes reality and fiction.

Vits, did you notice, there is a movie coming out with teenagers buried underground in a Chilean disco after an earthquake!

I'm defenitely interested in Trance as well -- good cast. I was also looking forward to jOBS, but with Assface playing the lead, I doubt it'll live up to our expectations.

jOBS doesn't even have a trailer on YouTube yet, just a clip -- and the movie is supposed to come out in a mere four weeks!

Well mbh, Aaron Sorkin is writing a different Steve Jobs movie, so maybe you should wait for that one to come out...

Does Ashton Kutcher look like Steve Jobs? No. Should we still give him the benefit of the doubt? Normally I'd say "Yes", because I do think he's talented. But he's playing a bearded millionaire, and there will inevitably be comparisons to his role on TWO AND A HALF MEN.

When we heard about it, most Chileans were like "Another movie about the 2010 earthquake?! What a way to cash-in!" Then we were like, "It's a collaboration with America, and there's even a famous producer? Yay!" Then we were like, "The producer is Eli Roth? Ummm.... Well, at least a Chilean filmmaker is getting the chance to "go Hollywood""

I didn't catch that one yet. Thanks for letting me know.

I remember you liked him in No Strings Attached. But seriously, you can take basically any of his characters and switch them around as you please. Put Kelso in Just Married, Dude where is my Car, Cheaper by the Dozen, New Year's Eve, it doesn't matter. Kutcher acts the same all the time. His attempt at doing something different in Butterfly Effect failed. His highest rated movie is at 49% rotten.
And it's not his looks, I just don't believe he is capable of doing justice to this extremely intelligent, creative mastermind that was Steve Jobs.
