All these movies, Hollywood does come up with a bunch of stinkers.

So many that they should have canceled the Academy Awards this year...AND next year, by the look of things...

I really disagree with the whole comic book movie sucks theory.  I do agree that CATWOMAN was the worst ever.  I also was not too impressed with Batman Begins.  The thing is that the movies stray WAY FAR from the comic book story.  The X men movies did not follow the original comics, but they were still okay.  But you have to agree, the kids love SPIDERMAN, the third movie will do big because of the younger generation.   I have my doubts with the brand new Superman movie thingy but who knows...   But anyway...who cares!! its all about the benjamins $$$$$$$$$$ anyway!!!

Did I shave my legs for this??

I'm still waiting to see if they'll make an Iron Man movie. I heard they had Ryan Reynolds in mind. Meh, they should have an A-lister if they want "Benjamins". Who would be the villain? I'd say Mandarin but I don't think that would be politically correct.

Personally I'd prefer it if they switched the trend of making everything of it's type into a movie. Say, old cartoons (Thundercats, Silverhawks, Voltron, etc.) but I seriously doubt they'll quit making comic book movie any time soon.

Whats wrong? Well the independent writers have more time on their hands to write a good script.

Plus you got mainstream Hollywood that only cares about Box Office Receipts rather than entertaining the Viewers. When it really comes down to it, the last 2 years have been in a downward spiral.

Not to mention people don't bother watching movies in theatres anymore because it's more convenient to watch at home with your own Home theatre.

Hollywood, you blow...big time!

Self-promoting overblown artists that preach to heads of state about refugee crises they know nothing about while they brag about their Ivy league education while daddy foots the talent camp bill...

What happened to cinema as art?

I'd like to see John Malkovich ( Who turned down The green goblin role in Spider-man) Vincent D'Onofrio ( Who'd make the perfect Jigsaw in the Punisher 2), and Lance Henriksen ( Who I think gave the best performance in Dead Man) play comic-book villains. Michael Wincott and Alfred Molina ,who also gave good performances in Dead Man, have already made good comic film villains ( In The Crow, and Spider-man 2, respectively).

Don't forget Stephen Dorff, James Woods, Brad Dourif, and what the heck cast Gary Oldman as a villain. I know, I know, he was cast as Gordon in Batman. Just give him a chance to play the villain.

Dorff played the villain in Blade. James Woods would make a great villain, as would Dourif. Oldman is always good as a bad guy ( I haven't seen what's regarded as his best bad guy role, in the Professional, he was ranked by the Online film critics as one of the best villains in film history for that.) I just bought Sid and Nancy, which premiere ranked his performance in that as one of the best ever. He's also Clifton Collins Jr. and Ryan Gosling's favorite actor.

Of course, Willem Dafoe ended up playing the Green Goblin in the first Spiderman. Plus, Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace have signed on to play the villains in Spiderman 3. I don't really think Topher Grace will make a good comic book villain though.

Actually, Marvel has a line of 12 or 13 straight to DVD animated movies coming out over the course of the next three or more years, which is good because:

1. The live action movies are mostly CGI anyway so they might as well be animated.
2. Casting voice actors and doing animation costs less than to make than live action.
3. It will pay off for the lesser known or least popular heroes who no one really wants to see a movie for.
4. If the movie sucks, it doesn't matter, it's already on DVD.

PS: Has anyone read the plot summary to Spider-Man 3 at imdb.com? It looks like they are going to have three villians, two love interests, and four plotlines. That's a lot of ground to cover in only 2 hours. Do you think Sam Raimi will pull a Peter Jackson (3 or 4 hour long movie) or a Kill Bill (Spider-Man 3, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2)?

So then, who will be playing the third villain?

Oh, wait, I think I know who that'll be: James Franco (who played Harry Osbourne in the first two) because he was wanting revenge on Spider-Man, since  he believed that Spider-Man killed his father (until he found out that Spider-Man was his best friend). Plus, remember the ending of the second film (when Harry finds out that his father was The Goblin)?

According to fellow schmoes at Joblo.com, the third villain will be Sandman. Played by the guy from Sideways with the three names.
