During the Super Bowl, we saw commercials for upcoming movies by Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler.  My sister and her husband had a disagreement about this question, "Who's lamer, Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell?"

So, my question to you is ...

Who's lamer, Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell?

I used to like Sandler back in the day, when he was on SNL and not quite so full of himself.

Ferrell, on the other hand, I never liked. I never thought he was funny and whenever he tries to be, it never, ever works.

Oddly, Ferrell's performance in Stranger Than Fiction caught me off guard. I actually liked it and the part when he told that girl "I want you." was so sweet, it was like a puppy or something.

The only reason I'm not completely writing off "Zohan", is because it's being written by Apatow. "Semi-Pro", on the other hand, looks funny. I'm seeing it when it comes out.

Who is lamer, Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell?  I'll say. . . .

. . . the mechanic in the Amp commercial who attached those jumper cables to his nipples.   That commercial was soooo stupid. . . .

Seriously, though, I laughed at a couple of clips from Zohan.  The only time I laughed at Semi-Pro was at the one Super Bowl ad where Ferrell kept saying off-colored things, and that isn't going to be in the movie.  So, I'd have to say that this time, Ferrell is lamer.

I loved Stranger Than Fiction.

Sandler at least tries to make a decent movie most of the time.  Ferrell so far basically runs through each scene being as loud and irritating as he can and thinks that's enough to pull in the big bucks.

Personally, I think it's Ferrell.  Adam Sandler can be funny.  A good example was when he lost the fight to Bob Barker.  Ferrell is just plain obnoxious.

This is fun.  Why don't we try this question with other celebrities?

Who's lamer, Paris Hilton or Hayden Christensen?

Paris never had a hit movie.
Hayden completely ruined the character of Darth Vader.

Hayden was good in "Shattered Glass" and I could deal with his performances in "Jumper" and "Revenge Of The Sith", so that means Paris the lamer one.

I'll lean toward Paris. She never has to work for a living if she doesn't want to. The only reason she's in movies, reality shows and music is because she wants attention. At least Hayden Christensen wants to be an actor.

"My name is Manniken Skywalker, and my acting is ruining the Star Wars franchise" Clerks 2.
"Woody Allen, whatever his failings, does not make movies for morons. Most directors do. Of course, most directors are morons."

Here's a Who's lamer that I got from G4.

Here's the link I got the idea from.

Here's the question:
Who's lamer:  the "brains" behind The Garbage Pail Kids Movie Dead or the "brains" behind Monopoly: the Movie? Wacko

PS: I used the term "brains" extremely loosely.

"Garbage Pail Kids," because "Monopoly" could be turned into a story...and Ridley Scott is, apparently, involved with it.

Hayden Christensen for killing off what was once good of Star Wars...
Comparing Uwe Boll's movies to a sack of horse manure will only get you sued by every fertilizer company in existence...

The studio head that allowed Uwe Boll to enter their studios...OR the man who allowed Larry the Cable Guy to disgrace the silver screen???

Sandler and Ferrell have both turned in good performances and forgettable ones. Sandler is a bit more adept at playing outside the comedy box and drama is probably where he turned some naysayers, but his track record during his 90's heyday was quite embarrassing. Ferrell can be accused of turning in the same performance in more than one film (See Ben Stiller), but he is a genuinely funny guy. Check out his President Bush skits on funnyordie.com for case in point. I wouldn't consider either of them lame, but I'd have to say Ferrell is much funnier. Sandler still hasn't quite sold me, but he's not a washout. Please disregard 'Chuck and Larry,' or I'm bound to appear uninformed. LOL

I am still looking for a movie worse than 'Manos: The Hands of Fate.' Alas, I remain ever hopeful!
