I think the Razzies vote according to both factors. Actors with clout and great acting ability have the power to choose which projects to star in and (hopefully) give a great performances in. When such an actor or actress chooses to star in a bad movie, or gives a half-assed performance when they could have done better, they get Razzed (as was the case with Sandra Bullock in "All About Steve").

But, let's face it -- no one expects an Oscar worthy performance from Megan Fox!
The Four Horsemen of the Moviepocalypse: uncalled for sequels/remakes/reboots, 3-D surcharges, untalented "celebrities", and anything with Michael Bay's name attached to it.

Please people. SKYLINE has a worldwide gross of $47,000,000 - it's enough. MEMENTO had a worldwide gross of $39,000,000 and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best original screenplay and Best editing. Let Skyline be the underdog of the Razzies. It deserves it.

I'm still trying to recover from Skyline...

Me, too! I think David Zayas should have a shot in this category for Skyline and Expendables

But my vote goes to Razzie "winner" (and 'Worst Actor of the Decade' nominee) Rob Schneider for Grown Ups...

RESPONSE from Head RAZZberry: Thanx for bringing Zayas to our attention -- With supporting roles in both THE EXPENDABLES (in which he was "The Evil General" whose palace was under siege) and SKYLINE (in which he was The Even-Headed Doorman whose apartment building was under siege) Zayas certainly is worthy of consideration here. Unfortunately, once votes start coming in, it is next to impossible to add names to a Forum poll...

I picked Ken Jeong. Besides being in my most hated 2010 film (Vampires Suck) as an added bonus, he was also in Furry Vengeance!

Aside from the obvious choices (Cyrus, Lopez, Mencia, The Last Airbender guys- though Aasif Mandvi needs to be included too-, Schneider, Spade), there's a bunch of omissions and choices who simply shouldn't be there, like Jay Baruchel (wasn't he a lead anyway??? Wacko), Ray Liotta (at least for Date Night), Mickey Rourke (he was BARELY in The Expendables, and Dolph Lundgren was worse anyway), and most inexcusably James Franco (WTF??? Censored); as for those left out, HOW do you not have Will Arnett, Chevy Chase (terrible as always in the otherwise mostly funny Hot Tub Time Machine), Mario Cantone (Sex and the City 2), Rob Corddry (see Chevy Chase, only grosser), and Guillermo Diaz (Cop Out, even worse than Tracy Morgan ) to name a few? Finally, Ken Jeong should also be cited for the criminally bad Furry Venegance...

I think, much like the Oscars, the Razzies like to pick on movies as a whole, rather than single out one or two performances in a movie that was otherwise not "Razzie worthy."

How about John Turturro for The Nutcracker in 3D?

He is a very good actor doing so many bad roles these days (both Transformers films for instance), I think we need to at least acknowledge him as a contender in the near future...

So I like to think outside the ever-narrowing Razzies box from time to time Tongue; and with all due respect, When in Rome, Jonah Hex (that means you, Mr. One-Note Arnett Thumbs Down and certainly SATC2 are ALL more than Razzie-worthy anyhow! Pig

Well, nominating ballots should be mailed out VERY soon, so in a few weeks, we'll know where all these possible choices stand on having a real chance of getting RAZZed!

It appears either Patel or Rathbone is gonna need to clear his shelf to make way for that spray painted golden fruit (the Razzie Award) to remind him of how 2010 was a "berry" bad year.
You see in this filmmaking world there's two types of people my friend. Those with the knowledge of film and those who think they do but really don't.

I just don't like unfairness. For example, for months, all of you have stated Dev Patel gave the worst performance, but you're voting on Jackson Rathbone only because he was in two movies.

It's not just the fact that Rathbone was in two movies, it was that he also gave extremely poor performances in both of them!

Elizabeth Hartman and Judith Barsi are much more talented and beautiful than Scarlett Johansson and Chloe Grace Moretz. Fact.

Yeah, it's because he was in TWO movies, but I think it should go to Dev because he should know better, coming off of an Oscar winning Best Picture.

Before he was a slumdog, he was the worst thing on television's Skins.  Regardless of if he knew better, he should win the Razzie.
For Your Consideration
