Tie: SHOWGIRLS and   BATTLEFIELD EARTH

It was so hard deciding on these two...even when the coin wound up on edge on six consecutive flips...

here's my top 10!
1 lost horizon (1973)
2 plan 9 from outer space
3 mommie dearest
4 king kong lives
5 flash gordon
6 street fighter
7 glen or glenda?
8 intolerance
9 can't stop the music
10 battlefield earth

Response from Head RAZZberry: INTOLERANCE -- Seriously?? Have you actually seen the film? Or are you going from the Medved brothers' ill-informed slamming of it as one of Hollywood's all-time box office duds?

Though a tad tedious by today's MTV-fueled editing standards, D.W. Griffith's 1917 masterpiece was a ground-breaking cinematic effort in its day, and its anti-war message in the face of  Word War I (which contributed to its bombing at the box office) is something we could still stand to listen to today...

1941, Steven Spielberg's first offbeat film. That film was released in 1979.
The Mormons were'nt really popular in the beginning, they're now becoming more popular, even in Hollywood.

I have to disagree with Street Fighter, Raul Julia's performance ( Which was better than everyone else's despite the fact that he was severely weakened from Cancer) kept me from hating it.

I'm still not satisfied with this list but it does involve a couple of flip flops around the 1 and 2 area in the present era... At this time the coin flip decided this one...

7 - The Terror of Tiny Town (1938)
8 - Reefer Madness (1936)
9 - Plan 9 From Outer Space (1959)

I'm not only going to move down #s 2-5 on my Christmas list...but also add a tie for #10 in the 1970-present era...

Both are due to the same movie: Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (1972)... I almost forgot about this steaming pile of ... Must have been wishful thinking...

Since I couldn't edit my posts in this forum...I had to make my decisions final this way... Bigfoot(1970) really wasn't bad enough to crack my top ten but was a substitution for a certain Christmas movie that would stink right up there with the worst of them and forgot the name of until just recently... The final version (I HOPE) of this list will be lested below...

I should have listed that first category from 1970 to 2000...because there's TOO MANY bombs (or was that torture devices???) after that time period to mention...let alone try to put them in numbers to what's worse...

I think its pretty difficult to come up with one film in a 30 year block that clearly "outbads" the field (Webster will forgive me). That is especially true in the 1970-2000 time frame. However, I don't think any list of stinkers from that era can be complete without Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, which, along with Xanadu, effectively drove a stake through the heart of the movie musical genre. And how can one leave Roller Boogie off the list?
