Much like the always self-important, ever-pompous Academy
Awards®, which The RAZZIES have
counter-pointed for two decades now, The AFI's 100 YEARS, 100
MOVIES begs for a retort from The Peanut Gallery
-- A Big, Juicy RAZZberry in response!
The AFI list (which almost no one seems to agree with!) was
compiled from votes cast by The Hoity-Toity
of Tinsel Town -- Movie stars, film-makers and film
historians. In response, The Golden
Raspberry Award Foundation now offers you the chance to
participate in 100 YEARS, 100 STINKERS. Our poll will name The
100 WORST Movies of the 20th Century. And
it'll be compiled from votes cast by The "Hoi
Polloi" of Anytown, USA -- Movie-Goers, NOT Movie-Makers:
The people who actually paid perfectly
good money to see the very films 100 YEARS, 100 STINKERS
will Dis-Honor.
We look forward to counting your vote among
the thousands already cast. FYI: The list
we are now asking you to vote from was based on nearly 2,500
votes cast between March 1 and October 1
of 1999. It lists the 250+ titles that received
the most votes during the early stages of our poll. If the movie
you REALLY want to vote for ISN'T listed, we're
Berry Sorry.
The eventual "Winners" of 100 YEARS, 100 STINKERS
will be announced later this year...
